This is usually to break a crucial partnership or get a good batsman out. For instance, in the game against Australia, he got two wickets towards the end which helped India restrict them to 260. India wouldnt have won this WC without Zaheer.

We could have all the batting talent in the world, and still lose because of our pathetic bowling. Now India's a good-bowling side too. In more ways than one, our bowling won us the cup this time. And Zak was @ the forefront.

To getting the sweetest revenge (TWICE!) when he took apart Australia in the home tests, in the WC quarters and now winning the WC! Zaheer deserves this success. Sachin carried this team for early in his career but it's been Zaheer that's carried our bowling for the past 5 years.

Prakat Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Big respect for the Indian Bowling Attack! He pulled us out of so many situations and any one of those matches had he not taken those crucial wickets could have turned the other way and we wouldn't have made it so far.
ViruRulez Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 To be frank, Zak, Sachin and UV have been the reason for our winning the world cup ... specially he has been an "one man army" in the bowling and has been brilliant throughout except the last spell today .. he always took wickets in every match whenever we needed him to break partnership .. it was magical spells where he suddenly returned in the middle of the innings and suddenly broke the partnerships with awesome reverse swing and quality bowling .. he has not disappointed perhaps even once when MSD has handed him the bowl in the mid-innings .. would have been icing on the cake if he had got one more wicket to remain undisputed leader in the most wickets in this WC .. but excellent bowling anyhow in not so favorable conditions .. to be frank I have seen the Saffers and Aussies bowlers and all other pacers and I have to say that Zak might be the best pacer in the entire world ahead of Steyn, Morkel, Anderson or Lee or anybody else... other pacers need favorable conditions but Zak delivers even on flat roads :adore:

The best moment was when he was talking to a reporter alongwith Sachin, Yuvi joined in and he said pointing at Yuvi " here's the man. When he was going through a rough patch, we all told him you will win us the world cup". The smile on the faces of all three, Zak, Yuvi and Sach said it all. An amazing performer for the team and a legend himself. may he continue to lead our attack for some more years to come.
