vvvslaxman Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 As Outsider said.. he is part of the problem. He has been there before. So he should know what to do what not to do.

yoda Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I am with Outy. SAF batsmen took way too many chances than necessary. Also, that Oram catch wasn't that tough. He simply had to run a bit and ofc being tall helped. Now compare it with shot Viv hit in 1983 finals and you will know what I mean.
bear23 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 great player. a little behind in the strike rate department in ODIs
Chandan Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Someone spare a thought for Greame Smith also - he has just retired from ODIs. Solid batsman, very good captain............................and a grade A whinner :hatsoff::hatsoff: Has he retired from ODIs? I thought he just gave up the captaincy! Where does he say that retires from ODIs? Any links?
ravishingravi Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 There is no question with sympathizing with anyone be it Kallis or Tendulkar. Teams win tournaments.
gaurav92 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 It was a brain freeze moment - asking rate of 4.5' date=' deflated opposition, sluggish pitch, and a short batting line up. There was absolutely no need for the shot. While watching the Kallis-Smith and Kallis-de Villiers partnership I always felt they were taking too many risks than necessary for such an easy chase. Just a few minutes back, he had miscued a lofted shot off Vettori as well.[/quote'] But they were still scoring at less than 4.5-4.6 an over. That means they were too weak to score without taking risks :hehe:
