My bad..my english is not as good as the CI editors. Scrap in this case, was 'fight'. Somehow, I got the negative connotation, where one wins without their effort, but due to the fault of others and scrape through to win. They should have said in simple words , "India Fight their way to Mumbai!".

I first heard that word in high school where an Anglo-Indian friend's elder brother was forever getting into "scraps" and would show up with bruises and skinned knuckles. It was always hard to tell if he had won or lost.
