HyroProto Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 "Replays of the toss indicated that Sangakkara called heads the first time as well, and the call is audible to producers of the host broadcasters ESPN-Star Sports. Sangakkara's head was lowered when he called. " http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/content/story/509133.html let it rest guys... theres no conspiracy or cheating or what not here..just the simple fact that the call was not heard the first time because of the noise & they had to do it a second time...
achilles Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 ^ So you want us to believe that Sangakarra actually called "heads" and decided to simply waive off his chance to select in this crucial tie, just because the ref acted deaf? You think we are that stupid, bro?
HyroProto Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 cant u read bro ? the producers themselves hav said thats what Sanga called after they watched the replays with volume up.... u want him to be the cheat..u hate him..i get it.. lets just move on shall we ?
coffee_rules Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 There should be two questions for Sangakara. 1st one - What was his call for first toss (others might not have heard his call because of noise, but still he would have made one) 2nd One - if his answer for 1st question is that he did not make any call, then he should be asked that why didn't he make any call? What were the reasons ? ( It wasn't first time he came for a toss) Logically speaking there can not be a consistent answer of this set of two questions. Of course he is bluffing here. Only possible situation here is, he took advantage of the noise level and created a case for re-toss. If he had won the first toss, he would have objected for the re-toss. I kept the audio loudest and I can barely him say heads, most likely. I can't hear any 'la' sound that goes with tails. With the noise, we should probably give Sanga the BOD. Why would Dhoni think he won the toss? If Dhoni had cheated and won on re-toss, Sanga would have made it known after the match loss with his whines.

I simply fail to understand why someone as competitive as Sangakarra who doesn't give an inch to the opposition decided to waive a toss he "won fair and square". Something is just not right about this. And no, we shall not move on, unless we reach a conclusion to this episode. Don't think anyone wants this sort of thing to become a regular practice.
DomainK Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I believe there is no proof that he actually cheated. So let it rest.

apuk79 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Check the bbc link on previous page. The journa asks sanga after the match about the toss. He just says the call wasnt heard and so it was repeated. He didnt say what he called the first time though!! Silence speaks a thousand words. My opinion though = CHEAT!
Prakat Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Why did Sanga's 10 year-old nephew call him yesterday? He wanted some cheats for the latest PS3 Game.
suraj Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Forget and forgive we won... that is all that matters

Yes. You can clearly hear Jeoff Crowe also said "heads" after inquiring Sanga's call. That was before he looked at the coin what it actually was. So it clearly proves that Sanga called heads first time also. Even the producers say that Sanga called heads first time. And you guys can't accept it and blaming Sanga all the time. And do you guys really think that he expected to get away with such a mean trick if he'd really done that? You guys just hate him. That's all about that. You know how good a captain and a player he is and you can't just accept that. If there was a mistake then it was Dhoni who couldn't hear the right call. Sanga was a gentleman to re-toss the toss that he had already won. We just pity you guys! And have a look at this. http://icc-cricket.yahoo.net/match_zone/odi_cricket/newsdetails.php?newsId=13857_1301813880 Sanga is the captain of the team of the tournament! Period!

pinkfreud Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 It's not clear whether he's calling heads or tails.. but it did sound like tails to me for a split second.. even Michael Vaughan had claimed so. But since there is no clear proof of that, I guess this matter will die a natural death. Period! You're being naive. The ICC Management doesn't want to discourage the growth of cricket and support at the grassroots level in your country. That's why they made Sanga the ALL MIGHTY CAPTAIN OF THE IMAGINARY WORLD XI!!! So fans like you will have something to hold on to.

Stop copy pasting your tripe all over the place. You have already cried to mommy here http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=264294 :cantstop: Your frustration is so pathetic it is already laughable. Get this straight: The matter is already a non-issue because there is no ample proof of whatever. Translation: We don't give a f**k. We already have what truly matters to us and our country, so go copy paste your bunkum in some rat infested corner and cry buckets till you drown yourself in those salty tears. Little tw*t. As a side note and in retrospect, it's wonderful to see a few haters weeping on here. It is a revelation of how much the World Cup means to so many nations the world over... and the fact that our team won it with so much hard work makes success even sweeter. So thank you for the hate.

I can't imagine what would have happened if India lost the match. Good luck though! May your team keep that success and do the same in 2015 also. As a sidenote I copy pasted my stuff, not yours. So you just shut the f up on that.
vaibhav_delhi Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Cheat or no-cheat, Sanga is a fabulous player. More stylish to watch than tendulker imo(who comes a close second to Sanga in terms of stylishness, elegance, exquisiteness) . He is a competitor n a character...I would love to have that guy in Indian team...
