Switchblade Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 They are invited at President,s House in Delhi showed the news flash in a news channel
ludhianvi Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 It's going to (should) happen soon because the IPL starts in like 4 days
Sachin=GOD Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I think it will happen once the party thrown by the President of India for the team is over. The party is at 5 in the evening today so I expect a parade in Mumbai tomorrow :yess:
kabira Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 can this 15 guys be excused for atleast a week and let them spend with the families. Screw IPL for a week.
NareshK Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 can this 15 guys be excused for atleast a week and let them spend with the families. Screw IPL for a week. Its not obligatory that they should play in the IPL. Its up to the individuals if they want to participate. I cant see most of the players like Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sachin playing in the IPL at least in the beginning part of the tournament after such a grueling World Cup. They would want to take some rest and enjoy the victory.:nice:
Ramzz Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Don't think the owners would like their star players sitting out. They attract crowds and the advertisers won't be too happy about it either.

NareshK Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Don't think the owners would like their star players sitting out. They attract crowds and the advertisers won't be too happy about it either. They cant do too much if the players are not ready to play. They have just won the World Cup so I doubt there will be too much pressure on them especially on the big guys. Then again, I never really considered IPL as serious business. Its an opportunity for players to earn some money and viewers to watch some fun cricket in the evening instead of some boring soaps. So they may participate after all and just go through the motions without stretching themselves too much.:--D
NareshK Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 if you are part of bcci contract then you are obligated to play in IPL.. ofcourse' date=' srt is exception to this..[/quote'] I'm sure they can opt out of it citing some injury concerns. There is no way a player will be forced to participate against his wish just because he signed a contract. This goes for international cricket too.
Dhruv200 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 any updates' date=' guys?[/quote'] i heard on news x channel bcci are considering but nothing for sure as there is a risk of security breach u know terrorism ****.

Holysmoke Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 any updates' date=' guys?[/quote'] There is a parade still going on at marine drive:yay: BTW, a news channel showed sachin going home. People were throwing flowers on his car on the way to his house. He entered his house and someone did an aarti. The first thing he did on reaching home is to go to the big ganpati picture and take his blesssings. Sachin:icflove:

Ram Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 This is madness..! We just achieved THE biggest sporting glory our nation has ever had, that too in a city like Mumbai and there's no open top bus parade!? :dontknow: Even Sachin has said that he's has seen the reactions of the people and fans only on TV and so far, most of his interactions have been with players, family, coaching staff and a select group of spectators and he'd like to share this moment with the common man. For a man who tries his BEST to avoid the limelight, even he is literally begging for an open top bus parade. And worse, the final happened on a Saturday night and it was an ideal opportunity to get the parade done with on a Sunday which is also a public holiday, when most of the fans will still be reveling in the victory moment. We could have 100s of 1000s, if not a a million people turn up to cheer the team along.

I'm very sure that tomorrow or day after there's going to be a parade in Mumbai.
