Who After Gary?

Would have loved to see Fleming as our coach. I do see him being an Indian coach if not now then after a few years. How about Darren Lehman? Doesn't look like the typical aggressive Aussie, was a father figure to a number of players during his playing days, is a very likeable guy and looks to have good credentials too.

gary's contribution has been overrated by many. dont forget that before gary's arrival, india had already beaten australia in australia, had a very succesful test tour there, beaten england in england, and won the T20 world cup. we were already a top class team before gary. anyway, i expect someone like justin langer to get the job. he is the australian gary kirsten. but it doesnt really matter. i would rather see india do what they did in 2007, continue playing and take their time in selecting the right man. there is no need for an immediate appointment

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Him and tough character, no half measures Shastri will finish it in style with cricket being the real winner :)

I would have thought for the moment a local chap could easily do it? Someone familiar with the players, unlikely to cause friction in the camp and well prepared to put in a similar shift.. It seems we struck gold with Kirsten but we don't want some BS with someone like Chappell again.. Don't think it is such a big deal..Gary was great as a person more than anything.

I think for the England series BCCI needs to plan now. Groom Deepak Chahar.......The POMS are likely to make swinging green tracks. We need Zak ,Praveen Kumar , Ishant and ideally Deepak Chahar. I have seen his bowling viideos. If the English decide to throw up green tracks...We need these four and they are in for a BIG SWINGING surprise..

Essentially choose someone that has good knowledge and mental toughness. Also a freshness. People like dav whatmore etc so old been round a few countries etc Justin Langer is ideal as was fierce player, excellent test record he is very similar to Kirsten so 1st choice should be him. If he willing? Thats the problem, a lot of them dont want the India job as look at all the pressure it brings with it!!

In a few years time, Sachin Tendulkar :isalute: Right now, the best Indian option is Lalchand Rajput.
As much as I love Sachin to be around Indian cricket, I would leave him alone after he hangs up. He deserves the most peaceful retirement life with his family after taking so much pressure for two decades.
