Ian Chapell's honest mirror - "I lied about Sachin"

Remember Chappy's article in Mid-Day four years ago? a few lines from it - http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/287961.html If Tendulkar had found an honest mirror three years ago and asked the question; "Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the best batsman of all?" It would've answered; "Brian Charles Lara." If he asked that same mirror right now; "Mirror, mirror on the wall should I retire?" The answer would be; "Yes." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ apparently friends we live in a world where other people their (imaginary) magic mirrors would want to decide our future. they get angry when we refuse to step down or accept defeat. its not that they want us to take the right decision... its because we make them feel inferior by being brave... because they would have taken it and dont have the balls to fight the lows in life. all the honest mirrors in the world dont know a zilch about an honest man's determination. and sachin is the epitome of everything a man can possibly do when dedicates his life to the goal. sachin is the greatest inspiration to everyone. **** all the honest mirrors in the world.... next time you are low dont ever look into them **** you chappell (both of you) next time you look into a honest mirror and ask "Mirror mirror on the wall, who decides my future?" it would say - "You". I am sure all the honest mirrors learnt their lesson.:winky:

To be fair to Ian I think eating your own words is part and parcel of being a commentator. During that bad run tendi had. I bet its not just Ian, many of our own fans would have thought the same. But knowing the person tendi is, he is never the person to give up. And when he did comeback. Those who where highly critical of him have to eat their words. :--D
