Tendulkar is the greatest test batsman, others either/or: 1. Got their runs in the amateur area (if this isn't an amaturish statement in the first place) 2. Don't have that many 100s (as if that's not included in the runs and avg he has) 3. Didn't play in ODIs (for Tendulkar we have to add up his total of ODIs and tests to judge him as a test batsman) 4. Didn't win the ODI WC (again very imp in determing the greatest test player) 5. Didn't carry a billion expectation on their shoulders (what can I say) 6. Didn't ..... So any discussion involving some of the greatest has to somehow have Tendulkar brought in. It's not possible to compare two greats and have one of them as the greatest, if the greatest being picked is not Tendulkar. Even more so now because everyone is emotional about Ind winning the cup so how can Tendulakr not be the greatest :P If someone can add Tendulkar to the poll and transfer all the votes to him :giggle:

Sobers is the Greatest player in cricket history . Having Sobers is like having 3 players. Great middle order batsman 3rd choice seamer and a quality spinner .Imagine a bowler bowler bowling seam at the 1st day of test match and then starts bowling spin when the wkt starts turning in 4th and 5th days. Also a great fielder. Would pick sobers overs Bradman any day of the week

Lets not forget that no one has managed to avg even 70-80 over 50 games even in Ranji trophy games on flat pitches against our pathetic bowlers and fielders so let's not try to derail this thread into ametuer vs pro era. He doesn't even have to avg 1OO any era' date= when no other batsman has, to be considered as the best. Even if he avg 70, he would be ahead of the competition. So lets cut that crap. If your fav player is being over shadowed by Don, its not Don's fault :winky: Stick to the topic!

Most folks know abt Vijay Merchant, what's your point? The point I made was even in the so-called "pro" era, folks don't avg 100 in Ranji games where many games are played on flat beds against some pathetic bowlers and fielders .... and even if Bradman avgs 70 in today's era, he would still be ahead of the competition (he doesn't have to avg 100). So there is no point in saying stuff like Don wouldn't avg 100 in this era as that argument becomes irrelevant But thanks for bringing that up as Vijay Merchant is considered one of the finest batsmen for his high first class avg despite him playing in the "amateur" era and not avg 50 in tests. He is a part of many AT Ind 11s, so playing in amateur era doesn't go against Merchant, only thing that goes against him is his "test" avg :winky:

You are the only one bringing SRT in most of your post, so get over it. And again, your giggling didn't answer the question of 70. But, please mention SRT again in your next post and giggle twice. Just so you know, DGB was joking about averaging 75, at least he had the intelligence and humor to do that, unlike you.
