BCCI and selectors deserve a lot of credit

Most Indian fans always critizised BCCI and selectors at every opportunity.Some of them even accused selectors of regional bias every time we lost.But now that we have won the world cup i genuinely believe both BCCI and selectors deserve a lot of credit for this win. 1.BCCI appointed current selectors in full time job in 2007 and gave them 4 years time to build this team.They didnt try to chop and change when we had a few bad results 2.When plenty of our fans and media were calling for an Indian coach After the Chappel fiasco they appointed Kristen.They identified and backed Kristen's coaching credentials despite him being an unknown quantity and not even SA board have identified his capabilities. 3.They never involved in any team or selection issues or tried to hog lime light when we enjoy success unlike other sub continental boards. 4.Gave selectors and Dhoni freedom to rest senior players despite pressure from Broadcasting channels of this affecting their revenue and diluting the series.This preserved our senior players from burn out and injuries. 5.When Dhoni decided to drop seniors like Ganguly and Dravid from ODI team in CB series in Australia in 2007 the selectors fully backed him despite huge critizism from Media.This move deserves even more praise when u consider Dhoni was just 6 months into Captaincy. BCCI and selectors have done plenty of good work in the background for our team and now they really deserve praise from us Indian fans IMO
