Sri Lankan selection committee resigns

The Sri Lankan selection committee, headed by chief selector Aravinda De Silva, has handed in its resignation to the sports minister today. The committee, that was appointed on May 26, 2010, includes Ranjith Fernando, Amal Silva and Azwer Ali. Their decision to stand down comes a day after Kumar Sangakkara's resignation as the team's ODI and Twenty20 captain. In another unexpected move, Mahela Jayawardene has also stepped down as the team's vice-captain. Jayawardene was Sri Lanka's captain before Sangakkara took over in February 2009. "I think it's time to move on, give the reins to someone younger in the team," Jayawardene told AFP. SLC chairman DS de Silva said the governing body had accepted Jayawardene's resignation. "The selectors will sit down in the next two to three days to choose a captain and vice-captain," DS de Silva said.

I'd be absolutely spewing if I was Sangakara. This guy was in all those 4 WCs from 2003 - 2011. Getting that far and losing the plot in the finals, thats got to absolutely kill a guy's confidence.

2003 = Semi Final 2007 = Final 2009 = Final (T20) 2011 = Final Three final failures IN A ROW. Clearly, something is wrong.
Hail the chokers of Asia :adore:

I'd say they are still better than SA - probably one of the best teams going into all the tournaments in the last 15 0dd years and never managed to reach even a single final in a WC or a World T20.

^^ Go through your post history and see how many times you had to resort to calling someone idiot/vagina/kid..blah blah...shows your level perfectly.
But you consistently keep deserving those titles for your replies.:dontknow:
You have done well to copy the definition of racist.
why would I copy-paste when I already know what racism is??
What about passing judgement/discriminating based on - "How someone's name is spelt/pronounced." - that is as retarded as it can get.
u'r obviously over-reacting, I was not being racist. Making fun of names != racism. That guy had called indians LTTE sympathizers, racist...
Trust me, here on ICF - when it comes to reasoning - you are no less popular than Afridi, may be even beat him hands down in a popularity poll.
:laugh: yeah sure, go start a poll. just checking my care for polls on ICF (where ganguly was > dhoni not too long ago)... meter.gif.jpg

Abey chaman - you were making fun of a whole community based on how their names are spelt. And I did not claim its being racist (will verify some other time) - I just said - your reasoning was retarded and I stand corrected. And that has been the case most of the times you opened your potli of IQ.

Vaibhav' date=' when someone questions you on this board, why do you resort to your CAT score or the fact that you worked at Microsoft as a defense?[/quote'] that is what we all have been wondering for quite sometime now.

^^:laugh: Go open a poll for my retarded-ness and IQ (even though you won't ever know what it is) as well. what a *****!!!!
One clue for you - If there are significant number of people coming after you or laughing at your "sincere posts" and none else but you is trying to make-fun/call-names in return, then it is time for you to post your CAT score and post your Gold plated certificates.

Vaibhav, nobody here cares you work at Microsoft, you could be rocket scientist at NASA for all we care. Using your academic qualifications as defense means absolutely diddly squat here. Why would you even bother to do that in the first place, after all, we're all strangers here.

Vaibhav' date=' when someone questions you on this board, why do you resort to your CAT score or the fact that you worked at Microsoft as a defense?[/quote'] Sree, You got to understand the context. I was asked not to take a job which requires logical thinking. At that time, only for once I had said I have worked on the OS that you guys are probably using. I dont think its a big deal. I havent mentioned it even once after that. Then they kept mentioning it with the intention of making fun:D (no big deal). You must have read PK's post, I wanted to reply to it in the same vein, so I mentioned abt CAT score as you would have seen, obviously not to show off. Do not see a big deal in that either. But people are too keen to hold on to MS,CAT,IQ talk. what can I do?? have already told them not to overdo this stuff in each thread..:dontknow:
