Why no IPL teams in UP, Bihar, MP?

they could easily add 2 (or 4 new teams) and tweak the schedule around, like the nfl does to reduce the total of games. like introduce 2 conferences (east/west or north/south) or 4 divisions (north, south, east, west) make teams in a conference play once and the other conference just 3 of the 6 teams. if all teams play their opponent just once you could add other franchises if wanted and reduce the 74 game menace which is definatly an overkill for one month. question is are they creative enough or how tight the tv contracts are. they will definatly demand a certain amount of games as do franchise owner to assure gate revenue. but id like the idea of more teams, gives more international players the opportunity to play and earn money. and most importand more indian talents will get a shot to play. from the 30 team rosters, there atleast 5 players who will never touch a ball/bat in the game. add ahmedabad kanpur/indore/bihar-patna if possible or is there any city i forgot?

Sahara is based in Lko but there is no stadium in the city. The Green Park Stadium in Kanpur is not in a very good condition and on top of that its owned by the UP Govt so Mayawati would ask for an exorbitant charge for hosting the matches there, so Sahara chose Pune :((. Ahmedabad was very very close to getting a team - IIRC Anil Ambani, Venugopal Dhoot of Videocon, Adani Brothers of Adani Group and Sahara - there all had bid for Ahmedabad team but Kochi and Pune got the nod ahead of Ahmedabad because their bids for those cities were higher.

That's what I was gonna post just a sec ago. LOL Ya, Noida is in UP so maybe they should have their own IPL team. Are there any stadiums in Noida?
Just one :(( But they are going to construct another one in Greater Noida. So two stadiums should be enough to host IPL. If only some sponsor came forward and tried to buy a team.

It is due to infrastructure mainly .. Sahara is mainly based in UP and have several projects including their main Sahara City in UP but there are no good stadiums etc. in UP .. Mayawati would rather build a thousand more statues and parks of herself instead of something sensible like a stadium  MP is no better either... Bihar is worst of the lot ... there are mostly Southie teams in IPL but to be frank development in all Southie states is incredible and almost every Southie state irrespective of ruling parties etc. are developing at an incredible pace :adore:

No good stadium right now in Noida but JayPee is creating a top class stadium there which should be ready in a few years .. JayPee are building a whole sports city in Noida named JayPee Sports City and that would include the racing track for Formula 1 which will organize the Indian GP in a few months time ... Greater Noida especially is going to be cool place starting from the next few months itself .. would be perhaps India's best planned city/mini-city

Yes, I heard about that race track. I mentioned somewhere on this forum that Noida is India's most well planned city. Gurgaon at the moment is nice, but the planning has been piss poor. Once, Noida gets its high rises and nice office buildings, it will be awesome. :two_thumbs_up:
