I vote for CSK owners simply because they know how to run a franchise in a professional manner. They keep a low profile and so does the team. No fancy parties, no glamour following just good solid cricket. They back the local players and run the team in a no nonsensical manner. Of course they are fortunate to have MSD as the captain.

First interview of Subroto Roy the Sahara boss/Pune owner and he asks sorry to all viewers for his sore throat and praman to all elders .. that is what you call humility and down-to-earth .. Subroto Roy is new but he is the best franchisee owner by a country mile .. Ambanis are not even near Sahara in terms of humility and grace ... the best owner is Subroto Roy and he is a far more genuine sports lover than the Ambanis or others .. the Ambanis and SRKs are showoffs and nothing else .. Subroto supports every Indian sports and sponsors it .. he supported the Indian cricket team and sponsored even when we hardly had a lot of money in cricket .. he is a genuine sports lover and all the recent ones are just fakers .. Ambanis are trying to hog limelight through cricket but they were nowhere when cricket was small and with less attraction .. even now Sahara sponsors most other Indian sports which are not in the limelight but the Ambanis never came to support the small sports .. Ambanis and SRKs are just after limelight and some cheap publicity and nothing else .. Roy is far more patriotic and non-corrupt than the Ambanis and SRKs
:two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:... Wonder how one could like the opportunistic owners who just pop out to grab their pie, of both profit and publicity.

Mumbai have the best owners They dont run around whoring themselves in front of the camera when you hear Mumbai Indians. They watch the game respectfully and just support their team. No masala or ego floating around. Hats off to them.
Disagree completely, Nita Ambani is constantly shoving her face in front of the camera every time they go near the dug outs, and even Mukesh has now started to come down and shake oppositions players hands and mingle with own team on the pitch. The best owners are those who can not be seen but quietly work away in the background with minimum fuss. I feel quite awkward when I see the likes of Ambani, Priety Zinta etc near the dugouts by the teams. Get the hell out of there you know nothing about sports management so let the experts take care of that!! They have no other reason to be there than cheap publicity stunt.

Why else is she in dugouts? Does she have some great unknown knowledge on field settings or batting technique?
During second IPL auction she thought and said that we bought that that Mohammed guy from Srilanka when they had bought Ashraful during IPL2 .

Yea your correct, Owners shouldnt have any contact or be anywhere near the players during the game.

There could be other reasons than - Nita Ambani needing spotlight. For others - Shilpa/Preity it is applicable though.

You have some unconventional, but nevertheless interesting views.

Lets see. First we have Shah ruk and KKR. Although you got to admire the man for his climb in the movie industry, he blatantly uses the IPL to promote himself. He is always fighting a constant battle to appease his user base and getting a winning team. Pick BD and Pak players and then shuffle the entire team. He just cant seem to win.
I agree. He does use the IPL to promote himself. Rather the brand that is SRK. How is that any different from the sponsors using the IPL to promote their brands or products? DLF, Muthoot, you name it, do the same. Just that in this case, the brand is the person himself and his image. That is how the game is these days. Cricket needs the sponsorship and the brands need the publicity. If we don't hold it against the other brands, we shouldn't have anything against SRK either.
Then we have the kochi headed by Tharoor' date=' who used his political connection to get his friends a team while pocketing a bribe of 20 million $. The owners, who sent their wives and kids for auction, ended up with probably the worst team in the IPL. They also used their kids to pick the name, design the logo and the jersey. Some professionalism. [/quote'] Sending wives and kids for auction and designing the team logo = work delegation. Isn't that the buzz word in management circles these days? :P As for Tharoor using undue influence, yes that was wrong of him. Haha. :cantstop: And doesn't that say more about you than it does about MI or Nita Ambani. :winky: Kaheen pe nigahen, kahin pe nishana types? :P

:orderorder: Please stop the abuse. That girl is his daughter and not his wife. :headshake:
What abuse??? Stating that someone has a crowbar mustache is abusive these days? If so, then I'm sorry to (and for) all those here who sport such mustaches. I didn't know who the lady was. That is why I put a question mark after wife.

N. Srinivasan cause he irritates the cr@p out of Northiez and Westiez alike. :winky:
Sorry to disappoint you, but apart from his immediate family, negligible friends circle and his pet, most don't even know who he is, let alone get 'irritated' by him.

Had to bump this for two reasons: 1) Kudos to Preity Zinta. She may not be an expert on the game, but she really feels for her team. The happiness when they won yesterday was all so visible. And it wasn't acting, she can't act that well. 2) That bald Gujju co-owner of Kochi is the most detached owner ever. Saw him on the big screen when Jadeja hit a six. The frame stayed on him as for a good 10 seconds. He didn't show any reaction. What the hell. His team had a pathetic start and Jadeja's batting got them close to a semi respectable total. Sir, a smile on your face wouldn't be too much to ask for. It looked as if that guy didn't care at all. :whack: A normal person would be more animated even while brushing his/her teeth. This guy was looks so smug and non nonchalant. As if he was doing the world a favour by being there.
