Is it time for ICC to ditch the Test match format and focus on one days and T20? If u have seen the test matches in recent past, the grounds are usually empty on most days. Most people dont have the time to watch the game on TV during week days. Dropping test matches would increase the number of one day and T20 matches in a series. Imagine a India Aus series with 10 one days and 4 T20 instead of 3 tests 5 onedays and 1 T20.. The amount of revenue generated in the former will be far more than with the 3 test matches. If all forms of the game were run on profitability probably test matches would have been stopped long back. T20 and Onedayers also equalize the playing field for the minnows to some extent and gives ICC a chance to spread the sport. Personally i think it is time to stop playing test matches and ICC puts more focus on one days and T20s.

Test Matches especially in the subcontinent are utterly boring mainly due to the batsmen oriented pitches where more often than not Draw is the only result but imagine a contest between the present test teams of India and England in conditions such as England where there is advantage for both the batsmen as well as bowlers , series like this have to be the most exciting encounters one can ever see in Cricket where everything comes out after a well fought battle between the Bat and the Ball which is what Cricket is all about . Cant really see why the format which can provide us series as such should be scrapped.

Problem is that the format which can be the most boring when played on useless pitches is the one which tests the player skills to the maximum when played between good teams on pitches which offer help to the bowlers. 5 days is awfully long for a single match in any sport, but that's just the way it is.

Why not just play a super over to decide every match rather than playing tests ODIs and T20s ? Mind u Afridi will still find it too long to last a full innings
