Sachinism Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Oh BTW Does Murali Vijay's catching deserve a thread of its own?
TumTum Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Agreed. But Ponting has not been throwing down the stumps consistently, in recent times. A case in point is the quarter finals match at Mohali. He had four shots at the stumps, failing to hit even once. Throughout their careers, Ponting > ABDV But at present, ABDV > * I agree with this. Moreover, de Villers is a better fielder at the boundary than Ponting That kinda doesn't make sense as Ponting hardly ever fields in the outfield, just because he is very good up close in general.
CoverDrive Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Pollard is the new Symonds in terms of fielding. His athleticism and catching abilities are very similar. I remember one six he saved - he just kind of slam dunked the ball back in the ground.
