rkt.india Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I am impressed with this guy, really impressed. He is tall and bowls very accurately and the bounce he gets is enough to beat any batsman and he can turn the ball as well. He can be very good in tests for India in future. He is accurate and he can turn it more than Anil Kumble used to do though we cannot compare him to KUmble at all, but potential is there. He has done well almost all the matches for Pune and has taken wickets. He has been hart to hit as well. Opinions.....
Sidhoni Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 yeah, he has definitely impressed everyone with his good lines and the bounce he gets, he got 3 wkts yesterday too, nd gets wkts in every match. He was impressive last seasons too when he was in the Deccan Chargers.
ganeshran Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 He get good bounce because of his height.. has to display more variation. does he have the googly and the top spinner? One thing he has to change is his celebration. Always abuses the batsman whenever he gets a wicket.
Raghav_12 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Yes. He has been very impressive. No doubt about that. Very accurate and troubled all batsmen. I am also impressed with Bhargava Bhatt's bowling (in this IPL) as well. May be soon we'll see a new set of spinners competing for a place in Indian team.

NareshK Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Rahul Sharma was very good even in the last IPL when he played for DC and also this year for Pune. He seems to have good control and has the ability to take wickets. But I wonder why he didnt play enough cricket over the years. He made his debut in 2006 according to Cricinfo and played only 9 first class games. He has to play more and perform consistently in domestic cricket to get picked for ODIs.

He plays for Punjab and PCA have become pretty much like PCB. They expect a player to become match winner in a day. It is not possible. They don't stick to same team in any match. They change their team in every match. Sometimes, they change even captain during the season. How can good player show come out from this kind of situation where is no continuity or confidence in players. That is why for the last 4-5 years, they have not produced many good players.
rkt.india Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 he has variations too. He bowls good flipper through which he cleaned Dilshan the other day and can turn the bowl too and mixes his pace very well. It is more abut exposure and experience against international batsmen he is getting in IPL.
rajmarie Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Hope he gets selected for the WI tour....& be India leg spinner. Chawla is good only when its his best day..& opposition worst day. Sharma seems to use his height very well also. Sharma along with Ashwin should be Indias spinner in ODI/T20 atleast. Test matches :hmmm:
jibranpatel15 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 well true but there is also ALFANSO THOMAS who has been splendid so only 2 & both unknown stars all known have jinxed :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:
Ultimate_Game Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 The guy's pretty good with the right attitude. Much better than the "confidence man" Chawla. I wouldn't mind seeing this guy get a chance in T20s. Btw can he bat or is he just a bowler? If he can't even hold a bat it may be tough for him to get into the team.
rkt.india Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 He can bat too. He can hit big sixes. He helped winning one of the matches they won at the end.

cowboysfan Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Awesome performance today 4-0-7-2 :hatsoff: impressive,he is one of the best indian bowlers in the IPL for sure.
