Andy Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 When you are chasing 157 and you need almost 8 runs an over, You play 10 overs and Manage only 69 runs? Kallis played 16 dot balls in his Innings and Morgan played 23. People may argue that he [Morgan] has made up of his Slow scoring Initially, But that is exactly what Sourav Ganguly was doing in KKR , playing dot balls in first 10 overs and Making up later on. The moment, Mid order batsman comes in, they have no time to asses the pitch and needs to start hitting immediately. As RR goes much beyond what it was initially, Exactly what is happening in Every Match for KKR. Better they get rid of this two if they are to harbour hopes of Final.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Can't say about Morgan but Kallis definitely isn't. Kallis is a player who will be consistent and score runs but the team generally will not do too well. He's as selfish as they come and to him a not out or a big score is much more important than a team win. He's good for Tests but I wouldn't have him in my odi or T20 team.
cowboysfan Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 they are both similar players(accumulators rather than hitters).I blame the others for not backing them up.Kallis played similarly for BRC and others like ross taylor and uthappa backed him up with blitzkreig innings.
Sid Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Morgan not a 20-20 players, are u kiddin me ? Or May be this is the KKR effect Andy talks about :hehe:
jaggadaku Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Kallis is doing no better than what dada used to do for KKR
Andy Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 Morgan not a 20-20 players, are u kiddin me ? Or May be this is the KKR effect Andy talks about :hehe: Well he is not doing what is needed ATM. He may be good outside SC. But dont think he would be good in 20-20 cricket in SC. Atleast he is not doing what his team needs ATM.
Sid Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 ^I have seen Morgan play T20 for England at Abu Dhabi,he was brilliant.
Andy Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 ^Then he cant play well in India, he didnt do to well for BRC too IIRC.
Sid Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 ^Then he cant play well in India' date=' he didnt do to well for BRC too IIRC.[/quote'] May be :dontknow: but I think he is better than Kallis any day .
Andy Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 May be :dontknow: but I think he is better than Kallis any day . Definitely :P
Zelig Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 You got RTD on the bench but play Boucher instead..KKR :nice:
mastana Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 This is festival time for players. Let them enjoy. :woot:
rajmarie Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Checking the scoreboard..Kallis & Morgan tuk tuk...did KKR in today. Both of them played lots of dot ball. No wonder KKR is still 2nd in the points table. & not to mention that Boucher who joined the squad & found his way into the playing XI in 1 day. These kind of moronic decisions are what hurting KKR in this IPL. Otherwise KKR team looks good this year.
rajmarie Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 kallis isn't T20 material : too slow Exactly....not to mention he is not a consistient bowler also who can be relied upon for atleast 2 economical wicket. KKR will go down & out because of him. But it appears thats the strategy they will presist with.
urbestfriend Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Hey Andy , why are you bothered man! You must be very happy that Overrated Kay Kay Har's losing streak started!
Zap_Brannigan Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Arent we seeing a general change of trend this season. Pretty much all the teams are approaching the 1st 6 overs with more caution than earlier season including teams with long and strong batting line ups. It makes sense for teams like DD which doesnt have a good batting line up but for teams like MI and CSK, apart from the top 4, the other slots are wasted. KKR should have got atleast half in the 1st 10. When teams push the run rate required up towards 10 for the last 10 overs, it forces rest of the batting line up to play aggressively right from the beginning and most often than not, they fail.
ensd2 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Morgan is over rated , he never shines in ipl : only one fifty in two season
