Virender Sehwag has played his last match for Delhi Daredevils in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League, according to sources. The Delhi dasher ended up on the losing side in an away game against Mumbai Indians on Saturday night. The following morning he left for Shirdi for a religious visit and is expected to move on to Delhi from where he will board a London-bound flight on Tuesday. Sehwag will undergo a shoulder surgery there and hence will miss the forthcoming tour of the West Indies. It is learnt that Delhi Daredevils may now be led by Australian all-rounder James Hopes. The Indian opener's decision to undergo surgery during the IPL and not before the mega tournament affects his chances of recovering fully for the all-important England tour. Sehwag was dismissed for two against Mumbai Indians on Saturday when he top edged a Munaf Patel delivery and was caught by Rohit Sharma. He scored a sizzling hundred in the previous game against Deccan Chargers at Hyderabad on Thursday. Virender Sehwag's performance in IPL IV: Matches: 11, Runs: 424, 100s: 1, Average: 38.54 Source. ________________________ Good news if this is true.

England tour starts from 12th July with the 1st test from 20th July. So Viru has a 2 and a half months to recover. I remember his doctor talking of the surgery likely to keep him away from cricket for 3-4 months. ODI series in England looks to be a realistic target for return or probably the ODI series vs England in India in October

Good news.. Sehwag should not risk aggravating his injury.. we need him badly for the transition phase
Huh? He has been playing in this tamasha for the last month and is going to be missing the WI tour and probably the England tour because of it. The risk to play the IPL was taken and it is the Indian Test team which will suffer because of it.

Yes but withdrawing now would atleast decrease the chance of his injury being aggravated. I hope he makes the test series in England. In ODIs we could give chance to youngsters
