julianlev Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Just finished watching the RCB RR game As always congratulations to the winner, RCB truly deserved this one Sad for Warne, but you DO NOT drop Chris Gayle Anyway, this was the first time I saw Langeveldt in the team and I have to say he did pretty well Was economical and picked up the big hitter Ross Taylor should RCB consider using him for further matches on pace friendly tracks? BTW. Why was AB not keeping today?
urbestfriend Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Langevldt is a good T-20 bowler and I feel RCB is better off persisting with him after Dilshan departs. I guess ABDV is not keeping because management decided he is a better fielder and his fielding is valuable more than his keeping , though I di8sagree, also Arun Kartik who was keeping today may open with Gayle after Dilshan departs.
ganeshran Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 ^ Langveldt will get a game only if Vettori isnt fit. My guess is Rilee will replace Dilshan

Langy plays for my local team, the Cape Cobras Always keeps it tight at the death and usually takes a few wickets He can even bat a bit on good tracks With Zaheer looking inconsistent and Dilshan leaving, maybe he'll get a few more games
Sid Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Langeveldt is one of the best T20 bowlers and is brilliant in death overs.Last year KKR played him in their earlier matches and won those. Then played phassttt bowler Bond in place of Lengeveldt and lost most of the matches :hehe:
ganeshran Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 You cant drop Gayle you cant drop Vettori (if he is the captain) you cant drop ABDV That leaves one slot which is for a opening batsman. Most probably will be Rilee
urbestfriend Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I guess Arun Kartik or Mayank Agarwal will open , Rilee is not established cricketer, no point playing him in place of an young Indian cricketer. If I have my way, Langeveldt and Vettori both will play.
cowboysfan Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 mayank should open with gayle.langeveldt ,zak, vettori and aravind will be a good attack for the playoffs.
Zelig Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 If you'd watched today's match you would of seen how cleverly Gayle rotated the strike with Dilshan n let his partner take on Botha. He started to free his arms only after the first few bowls from Botha. Simply put it, he needs a partner who can play spin well. I've not seen enough of Rilee to comment on his capabilities against spin. I'd rather open with Arun Karthick or any other Indian batsman n play Langy as the fourth overseas player.
jusarrived Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Dilshan dint have such an impact on our wins , that he will be missed much ...he can be easily replaced by an Indian bat & we could play Langaveldt instead
