According to Express 24/7 reporter, Shiraz Hasnat in Lahore, Gulberg police conducted a raid on Ashrafi plaza in Lahore following a tip off. After arresting people on site, they realized that one of those arrested was former cricketer Akram Raza. Initial investigations pointed towards betting on the ongoing Indian Premier League. Police recovered cell phones, cash and contacts of bookies in India. Hasnat reported that a case against Raza had been registered.
