saneindian Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Yeah I saw that and that was not thrashing at all. He was so uncomfortable against RP and Pankaj. On the basis of same match' date=' I said all this. I have not seen him much, but what I saw of him in that match. Kemar Roach will eat him with bouncers and short pitch bowling. He plays very eadgy and has very loose technique. I could see him only for first 13 overs and got the clue about his technique that is pretty similar to Phillip Hughes and I would say he is a poor version of Phillip Hughes.[/quote'] Ok, so the guy scores 103 in 146 and 164 in 216 balls but you do not rate him. BTW he THRASHED Yadav's 140 kmph+ deliveries and bouncers in that very match. And he was uncomfortable against the movement off the pitch and the variable bounce (balls rising off good length). Settled down and then took on every bowler. He may fail in international cricket but you obviously need to watch him more and then make that judgement. No one averages 60 with a horrible technique.

I am not judging him or discarding him. I just said he is not ready yet. He needs a bit more time to spend in FC cricket and work on his game.

On the basis of what? 2 bouncers from Pankaj Singh? He got picked for IndiaA, did fairly well against bowlers who have played for England in the past, did well against the Australian team in a practice match, did well for the ROI team in Irani Trophy. That for me is a sign that the guy is ready for international cricket. How he does if given a chance is something none of us can predict.
vishalvirsingh Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 No Murli Vijay Please he has had enuf chances but still has never impressed He is not the best test opener after gauti n sehwag that we have today... Mukund wud be better than him and I feel even rahane or dhawan can also do as they have better technique against fast bowling

Scored a century against the Aussies in just his second last Test. The man is a total failure and ODI and T20I cricket though, should be kept away from those formats.
vishalvirsingh Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 dhoni shud get Varun in test team Dhoni must be knowing Varun quite a bit now and I am sure he must be impressed One more point Jharkhand boys r TUF mentally and physically..... Dhoni is physically the strongest and also mentally the strongest India have though he may not the most talented batsmen I see Varun also strong -physically( reqd for fast bowler) and also mentally. Umesh is equally strong physically but I am sure he is not too strong mentally. AM I WRONG
rkt.india Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Whats the purpose behind selecting test team so early. DI series is not started yet. They could have postponed it for at least 2 weeks.
J P K Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I see Varun also strong -physically( reqd for fast bowler) and also mentally. Umesh is equally strong physically but I am sure he is not too strong mentally. no worrys Dhoni will make him mentally strong like he did for chawla :winky:
vishalvirsingh Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Yes...KEMAR RoAch n team have only ONE plan against the indiansi CHIN MUSIC- break the Chin and indians will play false strokes... If they do not implement this plan to perfection...I mean bowl misdirected BOUNCERS and rising balls india will beat them 5-0 Only chance to get a 3-2 scoreline for west indies is CHIN MUSIC...though I feel india will still win both the test and one day series but lossing by 5-0 is like being Raped and loosing 3-2 is loosing with due respect.
saneindian Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 ^ Paper work for windies takes time. Multiple countries involved. Probably they are also wisened by their experience of 2010 t20 WC when Umesh Yadav was named PK's replacement but could not get his visa in time and did not travel.
Sachin=GOD Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Meanwhile news channels are showing that Yuvi has also opted out of the ODI series.
The Dark Horse Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 No UV for tests please...I hope Kohli/Badri/Rahana any one of them gets picked ahead of him
VRV Singh Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Jeez man you really do have the habit of derailing your own threads/posts with completely random tangents
Cricket Tragic Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 no worrys Dhoni will make him mentally strong like he did for chawla :winky: :cantstop:
