Sir john Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 t was touted as the clash of the tournament. On Wednesday, as Wankhede played host to a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, many saw it as the ultimate faceoff between two iconic Mumbaikars – Shah Rukh Khan and Mukesh Ambani. While the Ambani clan turned up in their all-blue regalia, the KKR stand was shorn of its brightest star. Shah Rukh was not there. In fact, he was far away, at Mannat, watching the match at home with Karan Johar and other close friends. And while everyone thought that Khan was celebrating his best buddy's birthday – KJo turned 39 on Wednesday – some of his closest friends say that SRK’s absence had a lot to do with a bruised ego. SRK’s friend and Juhi Chawla’s husband, Jai Mehta, told us, “The last time Shah Rukh turned up for a KKR match in Mumbai, he was booed by a large section of the crowd. It hurt him badly.†The match, which was held at DY Patil Stadium on May 19, saw KKR give Pune Warriors a sound drubbing. It was a high-pitched contest, as it saw Sourav Ganguly playing against his former home team for the first time. While those who expected fireworks between Ganguly and SRK were disappointed, many in the crowd didn’t take Shah Rukh’s win sportingly. It has been learnt that King Khan confessed to his pals that the jeering from his “own people†left him bruised. “After doing so much for this city, this is not what I expected,†he told his friends. “And he has vowed never to turn up for any KKR match in any of Mumbai’s stadiums,†Mehta added. This is not the first time that Shah Rukh has exposed his vulnerable side. Some time ago, the star swore off Twitter after being hit by a volley of abusive messages. “Twitter broke my heart,†he said, “I need to cut myself off from negative energies.â€
someone Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 SRK watches the match in stadium, people criticizing him. SRK does not watch match in stadium, people still criticizing him In that sense, rubbish news
Ramzz Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 LOL, SRT has been booed as well. He did not sulk...he got over it and moved on.

Dude, this is like Gunner saying he has a conscience And real mature from SRK. Getting all senti for a match. Geez, you are an actor. Don't you deal with flops? Think of this as one.
vvvslaxman Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 If it is true.. Kolkatta crowd and Sharuk deserve each other. Others taking a dig at Sharuk is understandable. Fans should have shown some gratitude though towards their owner. After all he is representing you. But we can't expect much from that crowd. They were rooting for South Africa just because their favorite son was not included. A crowd who doesn't know the meaning of gratitude.
vvvslaxman Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 ^its not Kolkatta crowd' date=' its Mumbai crowd LOL[/quote'] Oh my bad. in that case he just has to suck it up. I thought KKR fans went after Sharukh for not selecting Ganguly. :giggle:
Stuge Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 hmm at present our politicians deserve much more booing and shoes .

Kolkata apart from the first game, got packed crowd and support.
vvvslaxman Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 WTF are you smoking"IHateKolkataLaxman" ? I don't hate Kolkata. Just the behavior of their fans over the years. That is why i said crowd.
Andy Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I don't hate Kolkata. Just the behavior of their fans over the years. That is why i said crowd. Which behaviour you are talking about? One rare occassion when some 50-60 people in the crowd supported SA? that too 6 years back?
vvvslaxman Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Which behaviour you are talking about? One rare occassion when some 50-60 people in the crowd supported SA? that too 6 years back? world cup semi final abandonment emptying of stadium for the test match to go on entire stadium rooting for opposition including the curator just because Ganguly was not picked .. to quote a few.
Andy Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 world cup semi final abandonment emptying of stadium for the test match to go on entire stadium rooting for opposition including the curator just because Ganguly was not picked .. to quote a few. First point, is not relevant to this thread and your first post, 2nd point I dint get properly, Only valid accuse is the 3rd one, I have already addressed. Edit : Got the 2nd one , again that is not relevant to your First post and the thread. Your point was more like Kolkata crowd doesnt support a 'Team'
