Sri Lankan Cricket in terrible condition after 3 yrs.

Dilshan as the captain was the worst mistake they made. The way he shouts, growls and stares at his fielders and bowlers is pathetic. Should either persuade Mahela/Sanga to take over or make Mathews the captain in both the formats. Another huge problem is none of their young batsmen have grabbed their chances. Chamara Silva, Kapugedera, Kandambi have all come and gone. Similarly post Murali's retirement, they have tried too many spinners. Randiv was shaping up well but seems to have been out of favour. And to top it all, they are up against a very skillful Pakistani bowling line up on sluggish pitches which aide spin.

Agree, thought he would become a superb off-spin bowler when i 1st saw him.

Murali's retirement is the main reason. He could apply pressure in the middle overs which the other spinners arent able to do. Looks like sidhoni's prediction came true three years earlier :cantstop:
Sri Lanka looked good only because of Murli and Vaas, otherwise their team never did well without him and same thing is happening now. Team was way too much dependent on one man.

Wouldn't have mattered no matter whoever they had made the captain. Sangakkara was smart and knew what would happen once Murali retired and SL really had nobody else to turn to.

And it all started at Wankhede on April 2, 2011 where Sangakkara tried to cheat his way to a WC win... I guess karma is a b***h :haha:

Sri Lanka's objective will be not to lose by an innings in any of the remaining matches. that's the best they can do' date=' forget about even a draw.[/quote'] when was the last time they even won a test match? a truly pathetic team. take away the chucker, and they can't even beat teams at home. even pakistan are better than them now.
