don_corleone840 Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 What a shambolic performance from srilanka. If one team which really deserve the honour of being called "Flat tract bullies" than its srilanka. look at the average of their 4 best batsman in tough playing conditions. 1 mahela jaywardhane Average in aus:34 eng:37 NZ:27 South africa:31 pak : 40 ACTUAL AVERAGE : 53.5 2 kUMAR SANGAKARA Eng : 27 South africa :39 West indiies : 34 India : 35 NZ:38 ACTUAL AVERAGE: 56.63 3 THILAN SAMARAWEERA Eng : 12 aus :22 Ind : 24 never played in south africa yet Actual average : 52 4 T.dilshan Aus : 29 Eng : 31 NZ : 36 West indies : 29 south africa : 18 Pakistan : 29 Actual average : 44 This amazing record overseas might be the only reason of SRILANKA amazing run in overseas condition. This record also tells us that sangakara and jaywardhane are nowhere near being called "great players"
Hell Raiser Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Though a fool, Sanga is a class player, but Mahela seems to only score in Sri Lanka. Baazigar oo Bazigarrrrrrrrr....:--D
Sid Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Mahela is a certified FTB ,but Sanga is definately not a FTB.

vvvslaxman Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Sanga is not an FTB. He has played some good innings in tough conditions. You cannot possibly call the conditions are cardiff was tough. Sangu has been off color. Even in IPL he was very ordinary. It is just the form.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Jayawardene Yes, Sangakkara No. Sangakkara is the only world class batsman in their team - rest (Dilshan, Jayawardene, Samarawwera) are only FTBs who put up scores at home and bunnies away.
Sachin=GOD Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Sangakara is not FTB. He's a world class batsman and a world class whiner
Square Drive Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Not sure about the term FTB, but MJ and Sama are weak against the bounce. Both have played some good knocks on spinning and seaming tracks that has less bounce. Sanga is just having a bad patch after a long long time.
ganeshran Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Sanga is a good batsman. The problem with Lanka is they hardly play any tests out of home. The last overseas series was years back (someone posted 2008). how would you expect youngsters to play in different conditions if you never tour abroad
Cricket Tragic Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Meh, you have to adjust if you're a great batsman. Sanga is very good but he needs to step up in this series and vs SA later this year. Otherwise, he would also go down as a Hussey. Too many holes in his CV.
Sid Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Baazigar oo Bazigarrrrrrrrr....:--D Baazigar420 :cantstop:
