deepak_sach Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Following from Statsguru cricinfo Website: Batsman avg.in Eng Sachin 62.00 Sehwag 40.00 VVS 44.88 Yuvraj NOT PLAYED Dravid 65.35 Gambhir NOT PLAYED Dhoni 52.25 Considering this we must be able to make 400 everytime... Where are those who accuse india of flat track bullies??????????:two_thumbs_up:

Cricket Tragic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 The bigger question would be how many of those batsmen would you back to be able to maintain or better those averages this series?
Cricket Tragic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 How many played as per their averages (or better) in SA?
wobblydoggy Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 The bigger question would be how many of those batsmen would you back to be able to maintain or better those averages this series? I think it comes down to how well we bowl. However, I am worried by Broads inability to bowl consistantly
deepak_sach Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 Their averages were already low in South Africa and considering the pace attack of dale steyn ,morne morkel, tsotsobe to an extent they did pretty well on par with their averages... This English attack barring to an extent Tremlett is no where near the attack of SA and also england pretty flat conditions.
deepak_sach Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 India will make a meal of "OVERRATED" swann////
wobblydoggy Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 India will make a meal of "OVERRATED" swann//// We'll see Swann is a very clever bowler. Also Anderson can rip sides apart in the right conditions. I hope we play Onions
vvvslaxman Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 We'll see Swann is a very clever bowler. Also Anderson can rip sides apart in the right conditions. I hope we play Onions Unfortunately the right conditions you mention make our bowlers real bullies. India's problem might be fielding. Cricket Tragic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I think it comes down to how well we bowl. However, I am worried by Broads inability to bowl consistantly Didn't we have this discussion a couple of days back? I said that same thing and you argued that he was just unlucky. Is he one of England's 3 best seamers? I don't think so. He might come in and take a bunch of wickets in 1 game but he isn't consistent enough.
Sachinism Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Hope Gauti will be fit Sehwag, Sachin, Gauti, Lax, Dhoni :aha:
Cricket Tragic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Unfortunately the right conditions you mention make our bowlers real bullies. India's problem might be fielding. Our test side is a good catching unit in general. Dravid and Laxman are excellent in the slips. Sehwag at gully/3rd slip catches what comes his way.
deepak_sach Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 We'll see Swann is a very clever bowler. Also Anderson can rip sides apart in the right conditions. I hope we play Onions so that onions will help you save last wicket thrillers like he has been doing in South africa?:--D
Cricketics Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Dravids average will take a big slide. Thank you very much..
wobblydoggy Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Didn't we have this discussion a couple of days back? I said that same thing and you argued that he was just unlucky. Is he one of England's 3 best seamers? I don't think so. He might come in and take a bunch of wickets in 1 game but he isn't consistent enough. He has been unlucky and I hoped he would bowl well days one and two of the current test, but he has bowled a load of rubbish
wobblydoggy Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 so that onions will help you save last wicket thrillers like he has been doing in South africa?:--D Onions is the kind of bowler who goes about his business quietly, but will keep an end nailed down and cause batsmen to get frustrated
deepak_sach Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 Onions is the kind of bowler who goes about his business quietly' date=' but will keep an end nailed down and cause batsmen to get frustrated[/quote'] Do you think vvs, dravid and tendlya will get frustated easily,it may be the case with sehwag but what about the intimidating attack that your commentators nasser hussain, atherton always brag about.Surely the attack of broad, onions, swann, anderson isnt that intimidating... also your batting comprising of cook(who has an ugly technique and is going to be out for many single digit scores),strauss(weakness against lefties),trott to an extent, matt prior does not inspire any confidence.agreed they did well against weak aussies. But if there is one man whom i fear it is KP//
deepak_sach Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 Surely a team like England losing against a minnow like pakistan will surely be beaten hands down by india....;.

Yes your trundlers and chief dart thrower will have alastair cook and his "ugly technique" out for many single digit scores. We have seen how a similar Sri Lankan attack has been treated by England, ruthless.
