Unfortunately SL's bowling attack lacked any sort of experience, after the loss of Murli and Malinga. If not for a 2 hour manic batting from SL, this series would still be at nil-nil. Even Vaas would have made a difference. The england management will be:pray: hoping that in July and August the sun stays away and temperature drops below 23°C to have any hope of winning the series. Even then the effectiveness of Zaheer and co will be magnified as we saw in Durban.

Every time England or Australia comes to India, there is always one or two bowlers whose Test careers get f u c ked, and Tremlett is heading that way, just like the over-rated Harminson, Flintoff or Panesar. Good in England, but in sub-continent makes the likes of Vinay Kumar look like champions.

And after the India 2008 series he looked past it, didn't really threaten the batting order like Steyn...and subsequently retired after a mediocre Ashes 2009 (though had one good game).

The 2001 tour (bang test) started his career as a bowler. In 2006, he scored so many 50s and also bowled well. Did alright in 2008 as well. He wasn't really a failure who got smashed around in India.

I will book mark this thread to be bumped up again. Also I really like the fact that Poms just jump up and down having bowlers who know how to bowl only when conditions are favorable. What did your otherwise might bowling lineup do during the worldcup? As far as I remember they were shredded.
