Can ABHINAV MUKUND achieve big in WI tests?

Never seen him play so can't comment. But he's got no international experience and not sure how much he has toured with the 'A' side (I know he was on the England tour last year but don't know more than that), so probably best not to expect too much. I think Parthiv will open with Vijay, anyway.

I saw few glimpses. But you simply cannot make anything out of it. He could be another Badri. Pitch conditions in India have gotten worse. Don't give us a clear picture of who is good who is bad anymore. Look at Dhoni. He is from a team that belongs to plate division. I think we should pay more attention India A tours . I think that gives a better picture . Having said that Abhinav played very well in Duleep Trophy. http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Events/IND/Duleep_Trophy_2010-11/Batting_by_Runs.html Here are his two India A matches http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/262/262876.html http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/262/262904.html Stats don't reveal everything. But unfortunately that is what they will go with.

Classy player , surprisingly there is no hype around him ..which may not be a bad thing . Compact , Predominantely an offside player , his cover drives are very very attractive. Hes going to surprise a lot of people , if given enough chances .

Hes nothing like Badri yar , not that Badri is a bad player ..but this kid is gifted . Can he translate that into runs , we will have to wait and see.

Must have not made runs in the circus league. Or his strike rate in the league might have been lower than legends like Pathan and Pollard.

Sounds promising. Obviously, international bowling will be a big step up from what he's used to facing and of course greater pressure, but interesting to see how he gets on.

Considering that both his average and strike rate in LIST A is higher than JOKER DHAWAN he should have been in the ODIs.Again people would have accused chikka of bias...

Hope he is not dropped after one series with everyone going for NOHIT SHARMA....
I would definitely like to have Rohit Sharma in test matches as a middle order batsman's spot!!!!! In fact it is a shame if he cannot make it to the test team ASAP!!! *Unless off course other people present ahead of him perform very well...

He has good technique and will surely succeed at top level but it will be interesting to see how he copes with short stuff. Most of our batsman looked clueless in ODI series against short balls.

True, and this is a pacy and bouncy pitch as well...Roach and Rampaul :nervous:

of what i have seen, i didn't liked him that much. He is terrible with short deliveries, which is not uncommon for Indian batsman. But very gritty player. Good luck for him and hopefully we will have a good opener in making.
