Varun Aaron For England ODI's?

Can we see Varun Aaron for England ODI's? From what I have seen he has troubled all the batsman with pace and bounce and can bowl at 145-150 kph consistently and has the fastest ball ever by an Indian bowler 153.4 kph.We know he is special. But his average is not good. That is because in all the matches i have seen his team drops atleast 2 catches of his bowling and batsman try to attack other bowlers. So why cant we have him For England Tour instead of him bowling in the DUSTBOWLS of India? He wont get wickets on these flat tracks...

He's just 20-21 If I am correct.Give him some time, he could have been selected for the tour of WI., but he wasn't, English tour is a big tour, We cant play too many newbies.RP Singh with his experience is a better choice.

Agree, There was a justification of Varun on WI tour. There is justification, but slightly less for Varun on English tour... Who do we generally play? Englnad Sri Lanka and Australia and South Africa.... All of them are just as good. So it is better to give our quicks a debut game on fast tracks then in India or Srilanka...

varun is injury prone ' date=' he already have had multiple back problems ,fast bowlers generally get injured but bowlers who have back problems dont have a prolonged carrier.[/quote'] This is not the case, many of the genuine and great fast bowlers have suffered back stress fractures at the start of their careers. If a bowler bears that injury and sill can bowl quick, it shows how a bowler have recuperated from the injury. Back stress fractures at a young age help a bowler stronger and able to tolerate stress better on the back. Likes of Wasim Akram, Mitchell Johnson have suffered these injuries in his early 20s, look at Johnson now, he is strong now and never looks to get injured. Akram also had a long career. Mohammed Ammer suffered stress fracture when he has not even debuted for Pak at such a young age, but still able to bowl quick.

Yes and Yadav. Dont care if they struggle a bit. Get then in squad for 1 year. Play them and rest them when appropriate. They will improve big tim from being in and around team, in a year or so will reap full benefit. They should have been in odi squad for windies. Instead we have losers like Vinny and Mithun in. harmmison and Jones had hardly any experience , yet drafted in to england team based purely on potential. Hope Fletcher does similar thing

The likes of Varun and Yadav will get picked for India A tour of Australia to play three 3-day matches in the emerging players tournament (from Aug 3-18, Eng ODI leg starts from 31st Aug)). Upto them to grab that chance and give good performances staking the claim for the national spot.

it is true fast bowlers like brett lee and johnson have made comebacks after back injury but it is a very diffricult process specially for back injuries somehow back injuries tend to cause max damage to fast bowlers i was watching highlights of lee in ashes 2001 just after lee made a comeback after injury and he was bowling at 79-80 mph with fastest ball around 84mph ,yes he later recovered his pace ,freddy is another example of someone who would regain his pace even after injuries but these are the exceptions not the norm. the list of fast bowlers whose carriers were finished /hampered because of back injuries is even longer. munaf -lost pace after injury ankola atul wassan brett schultz simon jones mohammad zahid mohammad irshad ashish nehra javagal srinath ian bishop p.s-the young pace bowler from sl nuwan pradeep said to be quicker than malinga and fernando also is injury prone and had to return home from eng , hope he recovers quickly .
You did not get what I wanted to say...Most of the above bowlers got back injuries in their mid 25 or above at that time if a bowler suffers a back injury, he may not come back with the original potency. But if a bowler suffers this injury at a young when his body is not matured fully, body can cope well with this injury and back limbs get stronger after the recovery. While Munaf has not lost pace because of injuries. His most fatal injuries occurred even before his India debut, like shoulder injury while playing for India A in a match. He suffered 2 shoulder injuries before his debut, but still bowled fast then. You can see the change in his approach then and now. He used to put more effort then and his running style was different, but he sacrificed it to stay injury free and used Mcgrath like approach. He can still bowl quick if he wants which we saw in WC game against Pak when he bowled up to 140s. Due to lack of good advice has lead to this for Munaf. He used to be aggressive in 2006, always at the batsman, but now he just wanders and put the ball on very predictable lengths but accurate enough without putting much effort.

50+ first class matches with 200+ first class wickets for Harmison before his test debut (2002 vs India). Made his first class debut in 1996. Jones too made his first class debut in 1998 and had played nearly 35 first class matches before making his debut in the same series as Harmison against us on the 2002 tour.

varun is 21 ' date='he has suffered back injuries quite a bit, so has tyagi, are their bodies young enough to handle it ?[/quote'] Varun , yes, looks stronger and athletic. Tyagi, doubtful.

varun is 21 ' date='he has suffered back injuries quite a bit, so has tyagi, are their bodies young enough to handle it ?[/quote'] I think so, back stress fractures are good if they occur at an early age in teens or in low 20s. It enables the body to react according to the stress it gets on back and it makes back to bear it a bit better than previously. Varun is strongly built while Tyagi is thin but tall and both had suffered stress fracture early and recovered well and not lost pace even after the fractures because Tyagi was selected after he suffered the injury after his season when he bowled 300 overs in that Ranjji season and emerged as Highest wicket taker. And it is not only about back, running is also very important for pacers to get stronger legs who can sustain that pressure while bowling and there is no substitute to running and in stead of just jogging, the running for pacers should be fast to develop fast muscles in the legs and make them stronger. A bowler also needs lot bowl lot of overs in the nets to make the body habitual of bowling long spells in the match. Bowlers now days do not bowl too many overs in the nets, instead net bowlers are being called to do the job and it cannot be called unfair for bowlers because of too much cricket on flat pattas and travel as well.

They should try him out. Ideally it would have been better if he was selected for WI tour, but that isn't the case. With World cup gone I think now India can try and expirement with their bowling, shouldn't care about results as much because at some stage we have to build our team for future and make sure the transition is smooth rather then how WI and now Australia have ended up.

he's is too raw, imo. give him a couple of tours with the A team before blooding him in. or else we could see him play, play badly and then never be considered for the team again.
