Why can't india produce all-rounders??

I have seen so many posts about india not able to produce real pace bowlers. But i would really like to see some all-rounders coming into the side. I believe that india can produce consistent results, esp in ODI's, if we have one (or few) all-rounders or atleast utility players. Why can't india produce all-rounders. Is it lack of motivation as our last known allrounders is kapil dev, or discouragement from coaches at young age or laziness or something else. Right now, I can definetly see that there is no encouragement from selectors at all. Some might argue that there is no talent pool to select these all-rounders. But I believe that atleast one spot should be allocated to all-rounders esp in ODI's. This will send out a right message to all the domestic players and youngsters and start horning both the arts (batting and bowling). When i was a kid and went to summer camp, my coach use to always encourage students to concentrate only on one skill (either batting or bowlers). He thinks that, if a student starts working on both of them, he can't master any and end up becoming mediacore to bad players. To some extent, it is correct. But what if, a player is good with both and because of lack of encouragement, he is giving up on one of the skill. Back in 2004, when india was in hunt for wicket keeper as rahul dravid gave up this job, indian selectors made a right decision to go for wicket-keeper batsmen rather than just a specialist WK keeper. Because of that, results are there to see. We un-earthed Mr. Kool captain MS dhoni. If it was only for his wicket keeping, he never would have made it to indian side. Right now, selectors should encourage all-rounders atleast reserving some spots for india A side, if not for india side or low profile series like west indies , bagladesh and zimbabwe. Can anybody name some all-rounders or utility players or potential all-rounders who are in domestic side...I can think of only handful Sir Ravindra jadeja Abdulla (not there yet. but could be, if encouraged) Can't think of any....

Why can't Ind become a developed nation? Why can't Indians stop throwing garbage on the streets? If they have the sense to keep their homes clean, why not the nation? Even places like Morocco appear to be cleaner than India! With the govt itself promoting parallel economy ( uper ki kamai), how can corruption stop? Why would people feel obliged to pay taxes honestly? Why isn't Ind's GDP as much as sone of the other promising Asian countries? Why .....

Ask yourself this, would you want to do double the work or just less work? I think that preety much tells the indian cricket team story. Lazy brown boys means no one wants to run 5 miles to throw one ball of an over let alone 6 ... lol

India can't produce proper pacers so forget All Rounders. We have the likes of Yusuf and Jadeja who in the name all rounders just roll their arms and aren't specialist spinners, even in batting they're quite weak. Irfan looked like a genuine prospect for the All-Rounder spot when he came in but his bowling just got weak and he lost all the pace. Yuvraj though has developed into a useful bowler.

Raina, Yuvraj, Sehwag all are all rounders. Dhoni is all rounder like Gilly no pun intended.

I am not a big fan of allrounders as this is a specialised game. Though Kapil Dev, Bhatia and Joginder Sharma are not all that bad. Last two did not get an opportunity to develop.

:haha: True. There is not one player in the Indian team that I would call a good all-rounder. Yuvraj Singh as potential but he must prove himself on the Test scene. He hasn't done that so far. A good all-rounder are Kallis, Shane Watson...not Har-****ing-bhajan Singh. He's barely a bowler these days.
