Freedom Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 This young gun is going to make his debut tomorrow. Not sure who is going to hand his test cap, Most probably the Wall or Lax. I wish this kid good luck. I hope he goes on to make it big for us and has a colorful career! Kohli is officially stepping to league where men play tough cricket. It will test his temperament and skill. Not the toughest team to face(WI), but a good stepping stone to seal the N0.6 spot for team India for the England tour ahead. This will be his test cricket watch thread on his performances & weaknesses :two_thumbs_up:
say2chander Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Great prospect. Though need to focus on cricket more than magazine cover and bollywood beauties
Number Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 It will be a big test for the lad whether he has become a man or not. hopefully he will pass it and go on to become a regular test batsman.
Sidhoni Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 :cheer: Maybe Dhoni as the captain may give him the cap or Wall as the senior-most player. Good luck Kohli!I know you will make it big!!!
tatters Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 One of the technically gfited batsmen in the game today. The complete player. The only thing that can stop him from dominating the game is his own mentality. Very much hoping he gets a few big scores in these Tests to show he has the concentration and discipline to bat for a whole day (90 overs). All the best, Virat! (Bet he doesn't get picked to play now. :(( )
Karan114 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 A completely deserved Test cap - has forced his way in through sheer weight of performance. Wish him all the very best.
BERGKAMP Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 If he continues developing as he is I can see him reaching 10k test runs by the end of his career.
Freedom Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Not the most positive way to start given the fact he puts a price on his wickets in ODIs. Lets wait and watch!
Sid Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 He was harpered in the 2nd innings, though he didnt look confident on the crease, may be 1st test nervousness, lets what he does in the 2nd test.
Karan114 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Really poor debut - disappointing. Hopefully he can get a score at Barbados.
Sidhoni Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Sadly a poor debut, Mukund had a better one than him, scores of 4 & 15,Hope he gets some runs in the 2nd test, otherwise he may be dropped.
Cricketics Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Was looking forwad to seeing him score a 50-70 today atleast. Disappointed a bit. But the player is a legend in the making. He will score eventually.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I'm not too bothered about the runs but he didn't look at ease. Early days yet. Let's wait till the end of the series.
Freedom Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 I'm sure he is going to get a full run in this series... lets wait until the end of series( well it still too short to judge a player).
vvvslaxman Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 This guy for all his skills and temperament expected a better debut.
Karan114 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 He's gotten a reality check on how difficult it is to face short pitched bowling in Test cricket. He will learn from this.
