Good news. The doubters who keep talking about test cricket dying should take a look and stop advocating t20 as the new way forward. By the end of the cycle likes of Kohli, Rohit, Pujara etc should be disappointed if they have not played at least 75 tests each and scored 15-20 test tons.

And this is for Ganguly, who would rank the lowest amongst Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag, and Ganguly. Where is the next test quality spinner? Where is the next test quality fast bowler?

I am disappointed to see no 5 test series between Ind & Aus. that should have been awesome. Details of the FTP havent been made...but hoping that besides the 5 test series with Eng, Ind have 4 test series with Aus & SA. Clearly....they are the top teams...& provide compelling & exciting Test series. Although I am still disappointed to see that the upcoming SA-Aus series was cut to 2 test only. Hoping these 2 teams play more test also

We never had many quality fast bowler before too, but hope Ishant will raise his game to the next level and we can find one or two decent fast bowlers. We need spinners, though our spinners mostly do good on Indian pitches. Kumble too only started doing well abroad late since 2003 tour to Australia. Harbhajan too has had very few good overseas tour only lately. Overall overseas record is not that great for Bhajji too. It was our batting which dominated in the last ten years and we will miss the legends once they retire and I am not hopeful any of the current young batsmen to go even remotely close those records. So, we will need our bowling to step up a big time after the legends. Hopefully as time is changing, we will get a few good fast bowlers..and about spinners...hope likes of Rahul Sharma and Ashwin step up to the plate as they have ingredients to succeed. We can only hope. I do not think BCCI is gonna help Indian Cricket by planning about talent refining and searching, though (if do not get anything above BCCI can look to introduce 2 IPLs in a year:--D:winky:).

read what i wrote there first..I wrote hope they step up..it includes everything First class games too...don't over react...i am not asking him to draft in national team. He has a long way to go.

Just reading Associates will get a chance to qualify for WC 2015. good news. I hope ICC starts looking into promotion/relegation in Test game. With the bottom team in the table being demoted and the top team from the ICC Inter-continental cup being promoted every 4 years.

I think the ftp is good although India plays a lot more outside home in the next decade than we play at home in India... Plus Saf last toured India in 2010 and der next tour to India is in 2015... i mean for such an enthrilling contest 5 yrs is a long tym though India travel to SAF in 2013 i thnk that the series in INDIA is usually more competitive Plus India plays a lot less one-dayers against SRL after the last decade where there was lots of those stupid ODI's... and more so INDIA dont play bang and zim at home, thereby reducing our home games to too less Plus we play 5 tests in England as opposed to 4 in IND against them... Hopefully we improve overseas in the new decade else we are gonna have a massive dent in our records
