ICC is gutless because it's a miserly body unwilling to spend on development of cricket' date=' I would love to know how much these "guardians" of cricket earn.[/quote'] simple solution is get sponsors for each piece of drs. im sure big indian companies will be falling over themselves to do it. and you cant pick and choose your series, you have to do it in every single match for all teams. aircel hotspot hero honda hawk eye pepsi pitcher blah blah blah...

BRITISH, AUSTRALIAN COMPANIES THAT OWN THIS TECHNOLOGY, if they let us use it in games, they are blindly trying to rob the game, most countries cannot afford it, even ICC cannot provide it,unless the geeks in India , find their indegenius alternatives this cannot be used in cricket. It is simple as that and not about BCCI , FOR MOST PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO GET EDUCATED ABOUT THE DRS implementation.Hot spot, Snicko meter, Ball tracking, when all are used together they are a good adddition, individually each have a problem.Umpires have to play a guessing game in close bat pad catches, low cathces, lbw's, it is amazing they get soo many right then wrong. Like Emirates sponsors the umpires, same way if a company sponsors a technology and he gets footage for that, then it could be implemented ,but who would wanna pay for Zimbabwe, Kenya, Bangladesh, other minnows. During the gulf war the British , American companies quoted atleast ten times longer times, and atleast ten times more costs to douse the oil well fires, Indian , ASIAN COMPANIES MANAGED TO TAKE OVER AND DO IT IN FRACTION OF TIME AND COST'S,it is about being robbed or being smart , where cricket cannot afford this technology, being charged unrealistically by these countries, holding cricket at ransom.

I say implement DRS without Hot Spot, snickometer and all other gizmos and gadgets. This will ensure that DRS can be used for all series as everyone will be able to afford it and DRS would be consistent in its implementation across all the series and countries. Let DRS only consist of TV replay feeds that we get as part of regular broadcast and let 3rd umpire make a call based on the same evidence. The whole point of using DRS was to avoid shockers & howlers like what we saw Bucknor give in the Sydney test. If the decision is so close that 3rd umpire can't tell or over-ride the original decision looking at the replay footage then simply go with the on-field call. No need to complicate matters, ICC simply needs to apply some common sense.

BTW if today Sachin is given out on bad decision then DRS will be implemented permanently
He better gets bowled or caught clearly coz I don't think umpires will have it in them to give a line decision against Tendulkar today :winky:

Such an innovative idea. Now only if powers be know that they can generate money using sponsorships..........

Not really. I would be complaining regardless of who picked up the wicket. We need DRS - even if its without Hawkeye. Just to eliminate obvious howlers like pitching outside leg and no touch on the ball.

this was one of the worst decisions I have seen in a long time p.s. we all seem to be complaining only because it was Mithun who picked up the wicket.
That reminds me of Sachin's dismissal. Ball was far from bat and even a person with poor eyesight would have given that as not out. In that case no one appealed and keeper asked question. :hysterical: Shastri calling that little bit unlucky when it is plain cheating to players. He would cry whole day even when drs doesn't go wrong.
