The Outsider Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 lets get this straight : you are denying you said those 4 things ? In the manner you have written them down, yes. It's a favorite of yours that when you don't have anything to offer you will twist words and ideas. So let me clarify just one as an example, because I have done this exercise before and it has no effect on you. 1. Lindwall could bowl at 90 mph because he was good athlete. I said that since Lindwall was an extremely good athlete why is it such a surprise if he could bowl 90 mph? Now basic logic will tell you that the above two sentences are not equivalent. Your sentence implies Lindwall being a good athlete as a necessary and sufficient condition to be able to bowl at 90 mph. My sentence implies that given Lindwall's athleticism and seeing jhadoos like Munaf bowl 85 mph, why is it not possible that Lindwall could bowl 90 mph? Do you understand the difference? If yes, then apply the same logical thoughts to my other statements to get their correct gist and meaning. If not, it's pointless because I can't be more precise in my explanation than this. EDIT : Videos related to the poll (which was started by BB, but due to moving some posts here my post is now the OP because of the time stamp. : http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=74604 http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=83789

Deleted_User_1 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I swear the batting looks so amateurish even in slo-mo. Ugly stance and no grace whatsoever compared to modern day batsmen.
rahulrulezz Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 WOOWWW ... Thanksss a lottt Bossbhai for sharing this video... Jus loved it!!! ... Check the fielding style at 2 40.. exactly similar to modern day era... and this guy is quickk mann..I have clocked 131km/hr and opening bowler for my team so I can tell u this guy is for sure way quicker than me.. prolly high 80s to low 90smph...Dont think I wanna face that guy without helmet, thigh guard and arm guard!! Check his spell after 6:00 to 6 :25.. bloody yorkers after yorkers!!...respect to the guys playing in that era without proper protection... P.S.-- Funny bit is during the whole match, umpire stares at the bowlers feet in their entire runup while squatting
Roshanrocks Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 That clip isnt opening for me, but I did notice that it costs £60
gaurav92 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I think he is bowling in that 135-145 range. Good speed, but not much control in line and length, who is the bowler BTW ?
Roshanrocks Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Something wrong with your router/PC settings ... try from a different PC or browser. my internet speed is ancient BB... :((
rahulrulezz Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 wot ? high 80s to 90+ MPH from about a runup that is 11 paces long ? ... the only bowler that I know who could do that was Waz. Either my eyes are shot or my understanding of a yorker is different ... the first one is a legside half volley second one is a full toss on offstump driven to covers the 3rd one is a half volley on offstump driven to covers. Fourth one is again a very full ball fifth one is back of length defended. Sixth one is good length. Now notice the batting technique that is being employed to deal with these deliveries ... its just horrible The umpiring used to be in that fashion it just never occured to them that it added absolutely no value and that being still would put them in a better position to make lbw decisions. All part of the process of evolution. umm... that clip doesnt show his full runup.. but jus looking at the ball and how quickly it reaches the batsman, it doesnt take a genius to tell u that the guy is bowling in high 80s
rahulrulezz Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 oh now I realized the idea behind this thread...so u r basically trying to degrade bowlers of Bradmans time... Bossbhai, please give up.. Bradman was a genius ..and Sachin is a genius as well... no need to degrade one legend jus to prove Sachin is better
rkt.india Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 wot ? high 80s to 90+ MPH from about a runup that is 11 paces long ? ... the only bowler that I know who could do that was Waz. gaurav92 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Ahh he is barely touching the 85ish mark. I think he is bowling in mid 130s.
ganeshran Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I think he is in the 70s. Bradman era's praveen Kumar :woot:
rkt.india Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Mitch yes but the guy is built like a battle tank ... See Roach Runup @ 1:40 in the clip below it is quite long. Shoaib was another guy who could produce high speeds from a short runup. Our own padosi Sahibzada Nawabzada Khanzada Rayeeszada legendzada Shahid Khan Afridi can also bowl 130K bullets from 3 paces run up of a spinner. :winky::cantstop:
