India:Fastest trio in world cricket?

They are three quickest Indian pacers. But fast by world standards? Not yet. For that you need to be 90mph+ cocnsistently Ishant is at best a 86-87 mph bowler currently with occasionally hitting 89-90 mph. Though with his height and skills, even his current speed makes him dangerous especially when he unfocussed on his in swinger like he did earlier and did in the current series so far. Umesh Yadav when he bowled for India in the Zim tri series, again bowled at 85-86 mph. In first classes matches, bowls at a similar speed with a peak speed of around 90 mph. No one has seen Varun bowl in a first class match with a speed gun. He did bowl consistently fast in domestic one dayers and in IPL with a average speed of around 90 mph. The key question is can he do that in a first class match where he will have to bowl 20-22 overs in a day? Umesh and Varun will need time before a judgement is made on how good they are for international cricket. Till then we can only hope for the best.
Yadav did bowl at an average speed of 87 mph in challenger trophy final with fastest being 91+ mph and clocked more pace In IPL. Zimbabwe series was his first series and he looked nervous, so i won't judge him on that basis. He was asked to bowl as fast as he can by DD in IPL and there he was clocked consistently fast. Another thing is no bowler goes full throttle in FC games on patta all times. There are a few spells when a bowler put full efforts. I have seen likes of Ryan Harris, Doug Bollinger, Peter Siddle not even crossing 135K in Australian FC and whenever they play internationals, they easily bowl 140 plus to 150K. I had asked a question about him to Akash Chopra and Akash said i faced him in a Ranji match in 2010-2011 season where i scored a century and Varun was fast but a bit wayward at that time. There is no bowler right now in world cricket who averages 90 mph...most of the bowlers are averages around 86-88 mph average speed with fastest going up to 150 (93 mph). Roach too struggled to touch 90 mph in ODI series.

nothing wrong in encouraging indian fast bowlers but oher countries also have fast bowlers in their domestic cricket who are capable of touching 150kph eg- sa- friedel de wet, craig alexander , Francois Plaatjies aus- patrick cummins, mitchell starc, wi- tino best, nelon pascal ,kelbert walters eng -matt dunn ,saj mahmood ,matt steaker nz- adam milne there are others who have clocked high 140 but i didnt mention them these are the guys i have seen clock 150 the 2 aussies clocked 148 and 146 respectively on their domestic speed gun ie the one used by fox sports and i have seen that this speed gun is 5k slower than ch 9 , sky sports, supersports or neo sports speedgun because max pace of bowlers like nannes, mitch have been about 145-146 on fox sports speed gun but they clocked 150 in the other speed guns .so i have included them in 150 k bracket P.S- haven't been able to included any pakis because they are too poor to have speed guns in their domestic cricket
De Wet is not actually that fast, same is nelon pascal, more of 135K to 140 not more than that. England's fastest bowler is 22 year old Stuart Meaker. Napier is not that fast. Adam Milne is only 19 and will be NZ's regular in a year or 2. Patrick Cummins has just debuted in Australian FC.

Speeds of 85-90 mph on their own are not going to bother international batsmen.
If a bowler is accurate enough, he will always trouble batsmen at 85-90 mph. Accuracy is the key because batsmen get less time to adjust in comparison to someone bowl at 75-80 mph and attaining accuracy is not difficult, just needs a lot of practice in nets will improve a bowler's accuracy.
