But do you think they will ever play together for India? Varun Aaron and Umesh yadav can bowl around 145kph and can touch 150 kph. Ishant Sharma needs no mention....

rkt.india Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Umesh Yadqav is 23 not 21... he started playing proper cricket at the age of 19 and within one year he played U-22 for Vidarbha and then Vidarbha ranji team, took 20 wickets in his first 4 FC matches in his debut year at an average of 14, then he played his first Duleep trophy match and debuted with a 5 wicket haul including the wickets of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman and in the next 3 years since he first played with leather cricket ball was picked for Indian team for T20 WC in West Indies. He made very rapid strides. Now he needs to show that he belongs to the highest level by keep improving and performing. Main problem with most of our young cricketers is complacency. That is where everything starts going wrong like it happened recently with Rohit Sharma, Kohli also experienced it, Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh. They are all victims of overconfidence and complacency at some point in their career. Yadav must not go that way. IF he is as he is lacked in performance last year, he must realize it and work harder. That is what all I can say.
Number Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 its worth a try , don't think zaheer will be used much in ODIs , sree has not been as impressive in ODIs so that leaves some possibility for these three pacers playing for India but not in the near future.mostly munna , ishant and Pk will be our 3 ODI pacers for some time from now.

jeeves Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 unfortunately in indian cricket as it often happens,bowlers who bowl fast are often touted as the next big thing.they are inducted into the team,they shine in a match or two,after a year or so there is a significant drop in their pace.sustaining and nurturing these fast bowlers is the key.

express bowling Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 In the test matches I would like to see Ishant, Zak and Aaron bowling together with Sreesanth and Umesh as backup. I think we should have atleast 1 slot for a genuine quick in the test matches and not replace a fast bowler with a slower bowler, incase of injury. The ultimate target should be to have atleast 2 to 3 genuine quicks actually playing in the team, now that we are producing them.

saneindian Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 They are three quickest Indian pacers. But fast by world standards? Not yet. For that you need to be 90mph+ cocnsistently Ishant is at best a 86-87 mph bowler currently with occasionally hitting 89-90 mph. Though with his height and skills, even his current speed makes him dangerous especially when he unfocussed on his in swinger like he did earlier and did in the current series so far. Umesh Yadav when he bowled for India in the Zim tri series, again bowled at 85-86 mph. In first classes matches, bowls at a similar speed with a peak speed of around 90 mph. No one has seen Varun bowl in a first class match with a speed gun. He did bowl consistently fast in domestic one dayers and in IPL with a average speed of around 90 mph. The key question is can he do that in a first class match where he will have to bowl 20-22 overs in a day? Umesh and Varun will need time before a judgement is made on how good they are for international cricket. Till then we can only hope for the best.
