But look at it this way - all us guys here, even though we may not know each other personally or seen each other, we are a kinda community, a group. Maybe when we know that certain things don't go very well with certain individuals, we can choose to not pull their legs on those matters? After all we don't hate each other or have any ill feelings towards the others so we might as well take a couple of deep breaths before acting on the urge to add to the fun. I know it's difficult to do but just 2 deep breaths before you hit the keyboard and you may realize it is not worth it...because you do respect the opposite person as a fellow ICF'er. :icflove: I don't remember interacting with Andy before for any decent length of posts but from what I can make out, the guy is pretty passionate about his admiration for Dada. And just consider this - if you were happy about a certain development, whom would you share it with? People you trust, people you think will feel happy for you, right? the very fact that Andy shared this event with us means he considers us a little more than just some monikers on some random website. He, like all of us here, feels accepted at ICF and is genuinely sharing a happy moment. Most of us feel happy for him and some of us even though feel happy might just have hit a sensitive note. Yes the world is a dirty place and in the real world we have to face even worse times and reactions. But at the end of the day, the world is what we make it out to be! It's an honor that an individual considers me, you, and the entire ICF close enough to share his happiness with us. [/End Rant]

Per me, politics can be defined as the set of processes / maneuvers that are done in order to come to a mutually agreeable decision. I don't think Dada was a politician in the negative sense. Yes he batted ahead of Lax but that is hardly a reason to say he had ill motives. Dada, always tried to take the attack to the opposition and set the ball rolling for us. He showed intent and was willing to take the initiative. The 326 chase at Lord's 2002, he stood up and showed the way. On Aug 12 2002 he stood up and played an amazing 99 to save the Notts test - the best gift I ever got for my budday. It was only from that day that I accepted Dada as our cap...till then Dada was "competition" to Dravid in my eyes. Then there was the Melbourne 2003 second innings fight. He came ahead of Sachin coz Buddha was not in good touch in order to try and save the game. Dada backed Viru, Bhajji, Zak, Yuvi, Kaifu, Irfan, Dhoni, etc and they turned out to be good finds for us. What more, he saved Rahul's ODI career by impressing upon the selectors and Wright that Rahul should keep otherwise Rahul was as good as out of the ODI squad. Dada is one of the main reasons our kids today are so confident. And in spite of being in better touch than Rahul in 2008, he chose to call it a day when he figured he was blocking a spot for a younger chap.
