Harbhajan can now be dropped

From a commercial perspective, the dhoni ad was funny as it bogged down a rival company but then this is India and again things can get sensitive when it reminds someone of his father, but I don't agree with the clause of targeting Sikh community. I am surprised by the lawsuit, this could have been dealt behind close doors and now it seems its like harbhajan has something vs dhoni and kinda looks awkward from every angle
Pretty sure company forced Bhajji to sue - so the company can get some free advertising/publicity. And I don't see anything against the Sikh community. Lawyer probably added that to add masala to his argument.

..in that case it makes it worse, so it seems that if wasn't for the company - bhajji didn't seem offended and the father angle is simply a classic excuse On the flip side, if someone drinks a particular brand - they are not gonna change it coz of a silly commercial Frankly, the public ( inlc folks here ) are taken for a ride

This is a fantastic ad :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: I haven't laughed like this for quite some time now

...it would be ridiculous to think thats it's targeting Sikhs. I would say thats selective bias' date=' laugh at everything else but when it comes to you, cry foul.[/quote'] I think the bomb thing was. It was once again stereotyping. We can disagree. I personally think it is cheap to debase any community that is why I am very careful abt what to post.

Too bad for him for doing the ad in the first place..............corporations especially competitors arent gonna look to see if they hurt someone's feelings or not. There are millions of people probably that are offended by many ads that get shown......Do you see them lining up at the court to file their case? If he was smart enough, he would just make a statement about it and move on. He is just making things worse atm.
Ads should be abt showing yourself in positive, not making fun of anyone especially a father.

You can't be serious man. There are million santa banta jokes out there, if you carefully scrutinize it, you can make any angle work and call it a cheap shot. There's nothing wrong with a joke as long as it's in limits - you mean to say you never joked about any other community in a light manner? On the other hand, does anyone get a feeling that this looking like a Pakistan v India issue

Jokes targetting communities are in bad taste. No one can in a polite society make jokes about African Americans in the west. It is hard to define limits when a joke is against someone.

I am no saint either and used to make fun of people in Inida. That was wrong and I realize it and have moved on. I argued with someone using the term bong on web and he told me that he is a bengali but my response was that it is still not ok. I dont use the term paki either and respect everyone. Super majority of Inidans are real nice tolerant people and that is the strength of that country. Making cheap baseless fun should be off limits. Just my thoughts.

America has a history of black racism, thus its taboo. and FYI, there are still black jokes in many movies. India doesn't have that case, we are a culture where a teacher calls "everyone" gadha, suar and people can easily say "abhey saale gujju, abhi to kanjoos mat ban" or something like bengali babu. Its acceptable, the word "target" is too heavy, it seem like there is some planning behind it. I am not sure where you were brought up, but in most metros in India..its pretty common to use these small anecdotes and light hearted teasing. Please don't get offended, there's quite a bit which goes on this site as well but all in good nature As far as bhajji's case goes, both brands are enjoying the publicity

The best way Bhajji should've dealt with this was to make a mockery out of fat bastard Vijay Mallya & his tube light winking son in a new Royal Stag AD...I think he should still do it...that would be hilarious :two_thumbs_up: Lawsuit is waste of time Just imagine Bhajji slapping both father & son in a new Ad...lol
Very Good, reply with a commercial but then public will get bored of it and it will seem a drag

I was answering to your question - why wasn't this solved behind the doors?

Why was there a refernce to any bomb? Totally tasteless.
Its a common punjabi/hindi phrase to use for a large ball (transalation of the word 'gola'). a day ago, I wouldnt have believed someone would actually have connected this to sikh Terrorism of all things. Well, one lives and learns I suppose BTW, no where in the legal case Bhajji has slapped, does this fact which you assume, come into te picture. Even bhajji didnt think on these lines you did

Great Idea!People like Mallya think they are classy but crassy is the nearest word that comes to mind. The thought of Bhajji slapping a fat ruddy guy with a french cut & gigantic earring and a skinny fake muscular guy with buck teeth and spiky hair is endearing:cantstop: On second thoughts, Harby shouldnt get into a scrap with these jokers by making another ad like this. Its better to have a moral victory.I think mcDowells has lowered its image after this ad.

Only good thing I noticed there :
Mallya added that his lawyers would recommend the next course of action while USL's rival Pernod Ricard said it had not advised Bhajji on his legal move but will support the all-rounder in the latest controversy.
:haha:

While it may seem frivolous on the surface, the implications of this ad could be far more damaging. The last thing Indian cricket needs are internal disputes between two senior team members whcih can disrupt the team harmony and that too, at a time when we are up against the biggest challenge in tests.I wonder if Harby's lackadaisical performance in WI had anything to do with this...The ad came out around the same time.

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: he has been like that for years now.
