Cricketics Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I would never want to move texas, or houston for that matter. But this makes me bit jelous that Houston has so many good food eateries. It must be fun to live in houston having so many Indian restaurants. Also I heard that food is pretty cheap over there.
IKnowU Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 What about cities like Dallas and San Antonio/Austin?? No desis there?
Alchemist Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 What about cities like Dallas and San Antonio/Austin?? No desis there? There are. But Houston is way apart. They have a complete Indian street like the one in Chicago and New Jersey.

Great job market, cheaper living condition...ya weather sucks and not scenic but you can't have all What about cities like Dallas and San Antonio/Austin?? No desis there? Dallas and Houston has the biggest desi population in Texas. There are quite a few desis moving to Austin now due to the good job market especially if you're an Engineer...google, AMD, INTEL, National Instruments, Schlumberger, 3M, Samsung and all other major tech companies have offices here. This would show you an example of Austin desi population ---- Holi 2010 at Barsana Dham Temple
IKnowU Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 This would show you an example of Austin desi population ---- Holi 2010 at Barsana Dham Temple farrkkk Thats like all the desis in Australia put together in one place............ Doesnt it suck going all the way to some faragnnn land and yet still being surrounded by fellow desis? :dontknow:

Between March & Jul I was working at a site which was an hours drive away. I would listen to Masala Radio using the iPhone app and FM transmitter in the car :--D. I liked it cuz its cool and the timing suits me. I can listen to the drive time (although its PM drive time for people in the US and Morning drive time for me) A little too many promotions but the hosts are cool so its all good. Infact I googled the election results for harish jaju :icflove: .. Bugger won

Not that I haven't lived in too hot weather. In Delhi just like it gets pretty cold in december, it gets equally hot in May-June, but that heat is still resistable. Here I have noticed, the heat really mess up your skin and it has happend for me. Even here in Maryland, rite now it's pretty hot in july, but atleast it will go away in next one month come Fall. Houston, I would have to deal this all year around.
