By bowling, Dhoni has made a mockery of Test cricket: Kapil Dev NEW DELHI: Mahendra Singh Dhoni's decision to bowl his seam-up stuff during the second day of the Lord's Test on Friday came under severe criticism from former India captain Kapil Dev, who feels that the current skipper made the mockery of Test cricket. "Dhoni has made mockery of Test cricket by bowling (himself). This is not acceptable that on the second day of the Test match, you can't do this," Kapil was quoted as saying. Kapil who never minces words was also scathing about Zaheer Khan suffering from hamstring injury. "Zaheer is responsible for this. He has put the team in trouble. He should have known his fitness and tested his fitness levels before returning to Test cricket," he fumed. "It's really tough to bowl 20 overs a day in Test cricket. Zaheer is responsible for this. He has killed the possibility of India winning this Test match," he added. Zaheer suffered a hamstring strain in his right thigh on the first day of the Lord's Test. LINK .

Dhoni just wanted to bowl as this was a 2000th test match. For a man who has no more than 40 balls in FC cricket, he shouldn't have bowled on day 2 of the most important series of the year. Raina should have been used
Can you tell me one over where he bowled poorly.Bowling Raina against 2 righties would have meant free runs .Atleast think before posting something.

Dhoni did commendable job. Not many wicketkeeper would do it. We need a medium pacer bowling and he took the responsibility. He was so close was getting a big wicket. Don't know why Paaji is so mad. Dhoni was trying to help the team and other bowlers so that they can rest.

What are you on about? Dhoni did an adequate job. He almost got Pietersen, in fact. And Kapil, if having the highest win/loss ratio in the history of Test cricket is making a mockery of it, I hope MSD continues to make a mockery of it for many years to come.
