Gavaskar complaining about the decision. :hmmm: Yesterday Ravi and Gavaskar was crying about technology and saying this is why BCCI doesn't want DRS when clearly it was not the fault of technology. Rather it was a human error. This time they are not bringing BCCI in the discussion. Why not a similar reaction and long commentary with strong word about that in this case?

For example' date= if the ball pitches outside leg stump and the batsman is given out lbw, the lack of ball-tracking technology means he cannot question the decision. On the other hand, if a batsman is given out lbw and he thinks there is an inside-edge involved, he can get the decision reviewed since Hot Spot can resolve whether there is an edge. Why the hell didn't Bhaji review that LBW? that is totally incorrect the reason they cant review lbws is surprisingly logical imagine is a batsman is given lbw but he thinks he has hit it. he would first of all have to ask what the umpire has given him out for, the lbw or a potential catch. icc dont want the umpires questioned at any time, so that is why you cant refer any aspect of a leg before decision.

Batsman can always ask the umpire about the mode of dismissal and it is officially conveyed by field umpires to ICC officials. How is it actually logical?

How is it actually logical? imagine the following scenario: batsman nicks a ball onto pad, close in fielder catches. (both lbw and caught could be the dismissal) he asks the umpire what the mode of dismissal was umpire says lbw THEN he asks for a referral. the referral is not meant to be contingent upon the batsman knowing what the mode of dismissal is. the referral is entirely at the discretion of the player but the icc dont want umpires to be questioned in this manner, so they totally eradicted lbws from the UDRS in this series, because india dont want UDRS for the hawkeye style lbws (seeing if it would have hit the stumps, not whether they have hit it or not) how do i know this? because i met dave richardson at lords on day 1 when it was raining, and asked him this exact question.
