cowboysfan Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I dont know man,Sachin doesnt right to me.I am hoping its just the Flu.
Trichromatic Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Tics bhai, get real now. 550 is not going to happen on this track unless English players really bowl rubbish or batsmen play innings of life. 221 is a good score for England.
Cricket Tragic Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 We should aim to play it like we did in 2007. We bowled them out for 190, got a big score and then knocked them over again. It won't be easy though.
Sid Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I am just hoping our mediocre test players like Yuvi and Dhoni play positively ala Broad. We will be needing their batting in this innings and I hope they play attacking cricket.Hanging around there wont help them getting anything on this pitch.Otthers have to just bat normally.
VRV Singh Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Dravid and VVS have done a mighty fine job seeing out today. Could have been a domino scenario if either had fallen. As it is, hopefully the cloud gods are kind to us and 2, 3 and 4 can bat most of tomorrow. The guys after that are unpredictable. Anyone know Swanny's status?
wobblydoggy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 We should aim to play it like we did in 2007. We bowled them out for 190' date=' got a big score and then knocked them over again. Cricket Tragic Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 This is what we should aim to do... http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/258469.html
Trichromatic Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 We should aim to play it like we did in 2007. We bowled them out for 190' date=' got a big score and then knocked them over again. It won't be easy though.[/quote'] In 2007, all top 6 batsman contributed in their own way. Such collective team effort generally doesn't happen in bowling tracks. England's bowling was not good back then. But you're right. India should try to play like that. I mentioned it in some other thread that no matter how runs come, this is the place everyone has to chip in something. At least 20-30 runs from each player.
wobblydoggy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 True' date=' I'd hate to see someone like UV going defensive and getting out scoring single digits, [b']Barbie's attacking batting style today got them past 200 when they were struggling at 124 for 8 at one stage I know I was watching:--D
Guest Gunner Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 This shows why I didn't have too much confidence in the likes of Mukund :P His inexperience came through, that's it. Yuvi would have been slaughtered if he had opened.
Ramzz Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Should have been 150 all out at the most. We always bowl crap to tailenders
Jersey #10 Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 No! You dont say? I thought your plan would be to give your wickets away cheaply and then win it in a great second innings last man stand:haha: so i am confused? are you a troll? if not, what's wrong with you?
wobblydoggy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Should have been 150 all out at the most. We always bowl crap to tailenders Should have been, but kudos to Swann and Broad + Jimmy
Trichromatic Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Should have been 150 all out at the most. We always bowl crap to tailenders WI series and now England series. India needs to fix this soon. Top teams will make India pay for their mistake.
Guest Gunner Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 This is what we should aim to do... http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/258469.html Precisely. That is the way to play this match. However in this case 481 in the first innings would ensure an innings victory.
wobblydoggy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 so i am confused? are you a troll? if not' date=' what's wrong with you?[/quote'] I thought his statement rather obvious so rather comical. I mean it was a bit silly wasn't it:haha:
wobblydoggy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 WI series and now England series. India needs to fix this soon. Top teams will make India pay for their mistake. Yes, but we do bat right down the order
wobblydoggy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Precisely. That is the way to play this match. However in this case 481 in the first innings would ensure an innings victory. I think you are dreaming on that wicket
Guest Gunner Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I think you are dreaming on that wicket No. The Indian batsmen have better technique to deal with this and not having tremlett is a massive blow to England. You will see as the match progresses.
Cricket Tragic Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I thought his statement rather obvious so rather comical. I mean it was a bit silly wasn't it:haha: No, in India's recent tests, we haven't got big leads but backed ourselves to chase down 4th innings scores. A small (ish) lead would not be good enough in this test imo.
