zen Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Mukund did well in the first inning, didn't spend much time in the 2nd .... would you persist with him or get Yuvi in (to tame Board, and get some useful overs to exploit the rough) and open with Dravid .... From what I understand, Sehwag could be coming back from 3rd test so we will hopefully have our regular openers for the last two tests My line up: Dravid GG Tendulkar (if Dravid moves up, he should move up too rather than Laxman, who normally bats below him) laxman Raina Yuvi Dhoni Zak PK / Mishra Ishant Sree
cowboysfan Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I dont think Rett has ever been right in his life.
Sooda Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Are you guys kidding. Mukund is an opener and in his 4th test, and whats more he made a pretty well made 49 in the first dig. He is going to learn from these experiences, we need to stick with him. No changes to the XI unless enforced.
Texan Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 They both may end up playing if GG doesn't recover, which would be a disaster
Sooda Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I dont think Rett has ever been right in his life. :hysterical:
daryl1985 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 This cannot be a serious thrad. Mukund did very well in the 1st innings. He needs to sort out his tendency to inside edge a lot of shots but apart from that i have been impressed by him.
zen Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Would prefer specialist opener too but don't know if it is worth persisting with Mukund .... I know there was a time when many people were rooting for Jaffar over Sehwag on that trip to Aus. Obviously I wanted Sehwag even for the series against Pak, which preceded the Aus series .... Jaffar supporters obviously thought how wrong I was. What was surprising that even Jaffar had supporters :P I am just hoping that Mukund isn't another Jaffar. I didn't see him bat in the first so pardon my lack of knowledge about him but in the 2nd he didn't impress in his short stay. Seems to be late on the ball. Don't know if it is worth persisting with him in an imp series like this one over someone like Yuvi, who may not be a great test player but could provide more value :dontknow: Appears as if many of you think Mukund is good enough, which makes me nervous. Not long ago Badri and Vijay were rated highly too
THX_1138 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 we might as well drop harbhajan and bring in yuvi.
Bumper Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Geez, ICF has some seriously silly posters. Mukund or Yuvi, eh ? Suffice to say, some of you guys have no clue about cricket.
Cricketics Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I changed the title of the thread. To keep everyone happy. Hope it will keep the OP guy Rett also happy.

Ravi. Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I dont want Bhajji for 2nd test but Mishra is crap too so i hope Mishra or Bhajji or both of them get injured and Ojha comes in the picture lol
Sid Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Bhajji will not be dropped, only change will be Sree or Munaf in place of Zak (if he is not fit)
Ultimate_Game Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Sreesanth in place of Zaheer. Rest everything remains the same.
phaedrus Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Bhajji will not be dropped' date='only change will be Sree or Munaf in place of Zak (if he is not fit)[/quote'] +1. might see Dominica attack again. its quite clear what dhoni thinks about sree i would prefer sree though
