Spinning ace believes England deserve No.1 ranking. Shane Warne has compared the current England side favorably with the dominant Australian one he was part of. England are closing in on becoming the world's top-ranked Test side after moving 2-0 up on India by winning the second Test at Trent Bridge on Monday. They must win the four-match series by two clear Tests to usurp the Indians at the top of the ICC rankings. Spin legend Warne, part of an Australian generation which dominated the game for years, believes England fully deserve the top spot. "England are improving and have a hunger for victory," he wrote in the Daily Telegraph. "They have a good team spirit and, as Andrew Strauss says, they can still improve. Don't forget they were 124 for eight on day one of this game. "But most impressive about England was how aggressively they approached the situation. "When Australia were on top and dominating world cricket, the things we wanted to do were score fast, take the game away from the opposition and intimidate the tail. "England are doing all those and showing qualities that will make them number one if they continue to play like this. "This match turned because of the England bowlers' aggressive mindset. They were able to make the pitch look completely different from when the Indian bowlers were toiling. unfortunately.. he is right..... we wasted two golden opportunities to kick them in corner.. but we didnt.. and rest is history.. take it on chin and learn from it that's all I am going to say.. not going to diss warnie for saying that.

I have to say Indian team looked complacent before and during the first few days of the tour. They didnt look hungry or passionate enough to win this series. Most of them seem to have relaxed after the World Cup and have not prepared well for this series. With that attitude, its impossible to pick up things in the middle of a tough series and win against England which seems like a team desperate to get to No.1 I would love to see an Indian comeback but its going be hard and its going to take the best of all they got.
