NareshK Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Why is he not selected for the England ODIs ? I'm sure I read an interview somewhere where he declared himself fit. He bowled quite well in the World Cup and in particular helped the team win the Semi Final against Pakistan. He would have filled in as the left arm swing bowler in place of Zaheer (dont think he is going to make it) and his experience would have come in handy, especially having played in England before. Surprising that Ishant is preferred ahead of him when he hasnt been consistent in ODIs, much like Sreesanth. Why is Vinny Kumar selected ahead of him ? :omg:
koolkarts Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 The guy can't field at all. Literally a liability in the field.
Sid Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 He declared himself fit for the ODI series but seems like selectors are looking beyond him now.
Number Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I think they will keep Zak till ODIs , he'll bowl 3 overs in 1st ODI then a hamstring pull , then Nehra will be called from 2nd match. though I doubt Nehra's fitness , but still better than Vinay Kumar...
Cricket Tragic Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Meh, at some point we need to find new bowlers. Our 2011 WC attack was pretty much the same as the 2003 WC attack (Zak, Harby and Nehra).
Texan Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Nehra is too old and hasn't really bowled well at all. No point getting him back
Sachinism Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Gave a brilliant performance in the last game he played and now they've forgotten He was with the squad in London at the start of the tour (well he was probably here with wife) I wouldn't mind him playing LOI
The Realist Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Seriously move on. Cannot still be dependent on thirtysomethings in limited cricket.
