The Outsider Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Give it up gramps, find something else to do on your day off. I am at a loss to explain how you twisted Apple copying stuff off Xerox into me lodging a lawsuit on behalf of Xerox. Quick, write it down before your memory deserts you (again). Because you would be stupid to not cease upon an opportunity to make millions if Xerox had a legitimate case against Apple.
bulbul Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 from Wiki [not utterly reliable but i read this some where else also While Apple ComputerÃÔ business division was focused on the Apple III, a separate group was focused on a computer that would change the world.[citation needed] While the Apple III was another iteration of the text-based computer, this new machine would feature a completely different interface and introduce the words mouse, icon, and desktop into the lexicon of the computing public. In return for the right to buy US$1,000,000 of pre-IPO stock, Xerox granted Apple Computer three days access to the PARC facilities. After visiting PARC, they came away with new ideas that would complete the foundation for Apple Computer's first GUI computer, the Apple Lisa.[9][10][11][12]
EnterTheVoid Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Because you would be stupid to not cease upon an opportunity to make millions if Xerox had a legitimate case against Apple. An outstanding mind reader you are, did you pull this out of your nether regions? Or am I conversing with Bill O Reily/Glenn Beck without knowing? I repeated this a million times before but since you are a little slow in grasping, I will repeat once more; Apple suing other companies for plagiarism is laughable since they themselves are accused of plagiarising off Xerox. Feel free to mis interpret this statement however you want, just be careful not to overdose on smileys, they're bad for your health :winky:
The Outsider Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Apple suing other companies for plagiarism is laughable since they themselves are accused of plagiarising off Xerox. Do you even know the definition of plagiarism? Apple paid for what it acquired from Xerox. Can you explain how paying for something and using it amounts to plagiarism?
bulbul Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 i own a S3 so dont agree with Ugly looks. :winky: but as article say they are clearly tried to avoid any issues The Galaxy S III is... well... it's ugly. There's really no other way to put it. But why? Why is it ugly? I don't mean aesthetically, why is it ugly, I mean, "How did something like this ever make it out of Samsung's design studio?" I'll tell you how, it was never in the design studio. This phone design was born down the hall, in a room where the door sign reads "Samsung Legal." It was designed by lawyers Back in April 2011, Apple's trade dress infringement claims against Samsung went like this: Rectangular product shape with all four corners uniformly rounded; The front surface of the product dominated by a screen surface with black borders; as to the iPhone and iPod touch products, substantial black borders above and below the screen having roughly equal width and narrower black borders on either side of the screen having roughly equal width; As to the iPad product, substantial black borders on all sides being roughly equal in width; As metallic surround framing the perimeter of the top surface; As display of a grid of colorful square icons with uniformly rounded corners; and A bottom row of square icons (the "Springboard") set off from the other icons and that do not change as the other pages of the user interface are viewed. That is basically a list of things you aren't allowed to do. Now, individually, those traits aren't worthy of a lawsuit. It's the combination of those things that will send Apple Legal over to kick down your door. The combination of those attributes got the Galaxy S and SII in legal hot water, so for the S III, Samsung made this list their "Hey, don't do this" design guidelines. That's right, the entire phone design revolves around not pissing off Apple. http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/05/04/the-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-the-first-smartphone-designed-entirely-by-lawyers/

Zap_Brannigan Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 So Apple lost the "slide to unlock" courtroom battle to HTC. Considering that the Windows phones had it since 2005, that was a given. I hope MS sues apple for this now. But i have heard that apple and MS decided not to sue each other back in the 90's, so apple might survive this!!

Some of the corporate lawsuits are big facepalms.
velu Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Without iPhone and iPad , there wont be any Galaxy S or Galaxy Tab. Getting inspired is one thing and blatantly copying is totally a different thing. Anyone with a little bit of common sense can tell that appearance , build , UI of samsung products mimics apple products. - From a Samsung Employee :finger:
