Stuge Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 yep .IMO we should play RP in the last test .No sense of going through the same customary process.
Number Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 he has no mental strength to be a test bowler...
achilles Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 we really should ave got RP Singh back. Being a leftie also adds a good mix of the bowling. Then there would've been a thread deriding RP. I think we must look at the bigger picture. Sreesanth is our best bowler in the absence of Zaheer in Tests.
Kumar Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 does it matter?...... we lost this series and this test!
yoda Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 They should call it 8-0, given that we've gotten raped every innings.

Trichromatic Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Last 10 over, 77 runs. Even in ODIs, it would be crap bowling. Are they playing a test match?
yoda Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Well Ishant was just wacked for 3 fours last over, although he did bang one in. This series has been simply brutal for all of them.
Trichromatic Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Then there would've been a thread deriding RP. I think we must look at the bigger picture. Sreesanth is our best bowler in the absence of Zaheer in Tests. If the second best bowler gives 4 runs an over for 2 years, then Indian bowlers should stop playing test cricket.
vaibhav_delhi Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Why do they need to declare somewhere before lunch on day 3 with less than 300 as lead and give India over 250 overs to bat? http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63127.html
Ravi. Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 RP and Ojha should play in next match. They wont do any worse than those idiots.
amiret Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 should declare once they reach 800. 3 days left . They should play till the end of day 3 . They are already scoring @ 4 runs an over easily so they will score at least 400 runs after they increase RR by end of day 3 .
Sooda Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Then there would've been a thread deriding RP. I think we must look at the bigger picture. Sreesanth is our best bowler in the absence of Zaheer in Tests. This sadly is true. Certainly amongst bwolers we have tried. I think thats where were going wrong, let try out more pacemen who have been ownsistent-ish in domestic cricket for a few seaons. Guys like Pankaj, Tyagi-fitness permitting...
Jayaram_IND Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Hope they just keep batting and eclipse Sri lankas 952/6 declared.
msb1991 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 RP and Ojha should play in next match. They wont do any worse than those idiots. RP, Ojha, Munaf in for Sree, Mishra and Ishant. You're right. Series will be lost, we might as well try out the others.
achilles Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 If the second best bowler gives 4 runs an over for 2 years' date=' then Indian bowlers should stop playing test cricket.[/quote'] Wicket-takers are always expensive. They pick up wickets. That is their job. Containing is the job of different bowlers. Wicket-takers, unlike the line-length bowlers, aren't generally good at containing the batsmen and vice versa.
msb1991 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 This sadly is true. Certainly amongst bwolers we have tried. Guys like Pankaj, Tyagi-fitness permitting...[/quote'] Not Tyagi. Tyagi has done well in one-and-a-half seasons. http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/235/235440/f_Bowling_by_Season.html Pankaj has done well in three of the last four seasons. The other season, he did okay (28 wickets at 31.78). He has played full seasons too, not got injured and had to miss a lot of cricket.
