saneindian Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Given that PK and Ishant have done a lot of bowling without any breaks in the last 2 months continuing with the WI tour, shouldn't we send additional seamers as cover for these two for the rest of the tour? As things stand, even RPS is reportedly not match fit yet which would leave us with Munna and Vinay as the only two pacers for the ODIs. Can the BCCI for a change be proactive and send the likes of Yadav, Aaron to England to be with the squad? I wouldn't mind seeing Balaji (provided he is fit) either as he also has the skills of swigning the ball and getting movement off the deck.
Cricket Tragic Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 With the money that the board has, why the feck can't we have a separate squad travelling with the team (the 'A' team) and playing games? England do that with their Lions team. This will mean that the 'A' team gets good exposure and we have reserves who are fit and ready.
asterix Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Aaron and Yadav are not ready yet. They need to play in domestic for atleast a season..
Trichromatic Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Is Vinay Kumar ready? :nervous: :hysterical: Ready for what?
asterix Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Is Vinay Kumar ready? :nervous: Yaar.. you guys (especially you and SaneIndian) have always been saying that both Aaron & Yadav are not ready for International cricket..Now why do you want to fast-track them?
Cricket Tragic Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Yaar.. you guys (especially you and SaneIndian) have always been saying that both Aaron & Yadav are not ready for International cricket..Now why do you want to fast-track them? They aren't ready for test cricket and need to play more FC cricket. My suggestion was for the BCCI to have the 'A' team travel along on tours.
rkt.india Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Yes..They can easily send Yadav and Aaron as standby...Ishant and PK can breakdown any time. They have bowled close to 300 overs in the last 2 months already. Even, I would say a left arm pacer in Shrikant Wagh as well. He was impressive in the IPL and could swing the ball both ways in mid 130-135 k of pace.
