Jayaram_IND Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Really ? So what if Mcgrath had Sreesanth as a bowling partner..Or the RP Singh of today...and Harbhajan of today in place of Warnie. Tell me honestly' date=' do you think his performance and record would have been the same. Be honest and do reply ![/quote'] Again debatable. We may never know.Honestly i do feel that they would have been successfull but their levels of success may have been different.
Jayaram_IND Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 but Varun aaro' date=' umesh yadav, and rahul shukla bowl fast even in domestic cricket. they made their name through first class by bowling fast then they were selected in IPL just because of their pace.[/quote'] Thats why i feel that they are genuine fast bowlers as they bowl fast in domestic cricket when they really dont need to.Also rkt ive not seen rahul shukla but only heard of him any pics videos?
Rightarmfast Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Thank you, and thats what I was coming at. Their level of success would definitely have been different. So, your success depends a lot on the pressure created from the end, you know !
rkt.india Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Eureka!! Trundler is one who is short and bowl 130k , but he is not remleta trundle if he is tall and bowl 130K.:cantstop: Now they should start displaying height also along with speed guns. yes...because fast bowling depends on many aspects. take an example of Joel Garner, he was not that quick but was tall and had bounce in his armry to trouble batsman. A trundler is one whose balls wont even carry to the slips after an edge, but if you are a tall bowler you will get bounce and edges can easily carry to the slips. Only pace does not make you a fast bowler. your other qualities matters too. Here I am not talking about express or genuine fast bowling. I am talking about a bowler who can trouble the batsman and takes wickets. If you dont agree, then I cannot help. also tremlett who is not the fastest bowler but is always in the game because of his bounce he gets from good length spot.
Jayaram_IND Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Thank you' date=' and thats what I was coming at. Their level of success would definitely have been different. So, your success depends a lot on the pressure created from the end, you know ![/quote'] Which brings us back to the combination part. The combination of an express bowler and an experienced pro offer differemt pressures at different ends so an ideal attack needs both.We cant say he needs him or vice versa as they are effective as a pair.

Jayaram_IND Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 no videos' date=' but a pic.[/quote'] Thanks rkt.Looks well built.Any idea on his height?around 6ft?

So according to your definition, Vaas and Kapil are trundlers :dontknow:
Rightarmfast Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Which brings us back to the combination part. The combination of an express bowler and an experienced pro offer differemt pressures at different ends so an ideal attack needs both.We cant say he needs him or vice versa as they are effective as a pair. Boss , please read my original post and then respond. I clearly mentioned that fast bowlers are needed to create a pressure from one end so that the other bowler can be more effective. I never said that fast bowlers are the one who take wickets. But you do need them to hold one end and make the batsmen and hop and dance to the pace.
rkt.india Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Thanks rkt.Looks well built.Any idea on his height?around 6ft? he is taller than both yadav and aaron..looks around 6 feet 1-2 inches. Maninder singh talked about him on IBN7 and CNN-IBN that aaron, yadav, and rahul shukla can bowl 150k and he has seen Rahul shukla bowl. he is still very young, only 20.
Rightarmfast Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 So according to your definition' date=' Vaas and Kapil are trundlers :dontknow:[/quote'] Man...Did he not just explain that it also depends on your craft. Kapil and Vaas were too crafty to be called trundlers. And by the way, both of them were 140kph bowlers when they were young.
Jayaram_IND Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 So according to your definition' date=' Vaas and Kapil are trundlers :dontknow:[/quote'] They were never fast and relied on swing only.Though they may fit into that category they deserve respect so its best not to call them so IMHO.
CSK Fanatic Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 IMO in last decade we picked players who came from upper middle class, they are mommy daddy kids, whereas Varun Aaron is raw, comes from very poor background, he hails from tribal areas if I recall correctly. Now that is huge advantage, He must have faced lotsa tough situations in his life, such player has huge motivation. Amir/Asif are from poorest possible background, they were natural, there was nothing coaching etc. Same is case with our Aaron, hopefully our domestic coaches dont destroy him. We had Munaf Patel from such background (Mind you he was fastest bowler in domestic cricket, we ruined him, even if he hadnt dropped pace still I doubt his effectiveness cuz his bowling action is such).
Jayaram_IND Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 IMO in last decade we picked players who came from upper middle class except Munaf Patel (Mind you he was fastest bowler in domestic cricket' date=' we ruined him), they are mommy daddy kids, whereas Varun Aaron is raw, comes from very poor background, he hails from tribal areas if I recall correctly. And by the way' date= both of them were 140kph bowlers when they were young. How do you know Dont just makeup something on the air. Anyway my point is fast bowling is a craft, so a good bowler is a good bowler. Craft could be one or more of swing/seam. speed, bounce, control/accuracy, variation and ability to setup the batsmen. So if the definition of a trundle is just based on speed, I have no qualms. But if you folks just making up the definition as you like, I'm going to call it.:icflove:

Hehehehe !!!! :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Varun Aaron's adopted motherland is Jharkhand. He is not a jharkhandi. And hence , not a tribal. He is a Kannadiga, and one of my friend's cousin. His dad moved to Jharkhand long back. I think he works for Tata in Jamshedpur. Which means he must be from a well off family. But just the fact a fast bowler coming from Jharkhand/Bihar is enough to say that he must have faced a lot of tough situations. I know of one more express bowler from Bihar who never got recognized but the fastest bowler who I have ever seen bowling. Not that I am a celebrity that my words will be taken seriously but even then...And mind you, I have seen a lot of international bowlers bowling.
Jayaram_IND Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Any idea how fast Pandian dharma is?Heard a bit about him.
rkt.india Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 So according to your definition' date=' Vaas and Kapil are trundlers :dontknow:[/quote'] at the start of his career Vaas was quite quick, he became trundler later, but need to see what kind of skills he had to still bowl well lafter slowing down. and Kapil looked fast between 135-140 in 1982. I watched his bowling video against england in 1982 and he took 5 wickets then. Even Roger Binny and madan lal were 80-85 mph according to ravi shashtri which i heard of him in commentary yesterday.
CSK Fanatic Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 In pakistan in general they wont pick you unless you are fast.We can implement that if we want too. Yea I also think so, plus we need bowling academies in North India, I remember Wasim Akram mentioning Punjabi's on both side of border esp. Jatt clan tend to be strong built people with great stamina, We had Kapil Dev, a Jatt. His longevity is testimony to his strength, Pakistan had Waseem/Waqar Jatts. We currently have Yuvi a Jatt, unfortunately he is not a bowler plus a fatty. Its worth a try, pick batsmen and spinners from south India, bowlers from North.
