So, in the hindsight, even though Steve did take the 'right' decision to not waste time/resources on supporting flash - it wasn't only him who foresaw the death of flash.

Holysmoke Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Although, having been spoilt by Apple for nearly 3.5 years, I am finding the S2 slightly annoying at times. For example, when you enter the 4 digit pin code in the entry screen on the iphone, it immediately takes you in. But on the S2, you have hit an additional 'O.K' button and that can be irritating. Plus, home screen is just a maze of status symbols and icons. I am not kidding - I have 9 different icons currently flashing in the top portion of my screen - One saying i have unread voicemails, one for the silent mode, one for the signal strength, one for battery, one for the time, one for the network status (4G, E etc), and 2 other symobols that i have no effin idea what they mean. Its like peering at the dashboard of an Italian Supercar. The youtube app for example - you cant pause it when its full-screen. You have to go back to the portrait mode to do it. Its small things like these here and there, but they do make a big cumulative difference in the end. But honestly, these things are a small prize to pay for the upsides - of which there are many. For the 4 digit pin.. why dont u use a pattern for the screen lock? Home screen, customize it any way you want boss, get go launcher from the appstore.. widgetlocker is another fantastic app. you can pause the youtube app when its fullscreen by just touching the screen once.

I have 5 different UI for my home screen including windows phone UI. Could also have Ios UI but why in the right mind would i choose that. I was with apple for so long including ipod touch and iphone which was the 1st smart phone i used till i started using other products,and i am never going back to apple. Just the video and sound quality S2 offers or even my cowon offered blows apple products away. I can't believe i had a *****y mp3,video player,phone for 6 years before i moved to better products. For Ram, i would suggest to get widgetlocker, home switcher, launcherpro, twlauncher and beautiful widgets and play with them. This is how my phone UI is, i can never get this with iphone. Resolution is crap with these screenshots but trust me when i tell you that the amoled screen is brilliant.

I wish they gave the combo option. @Zap - thx for the suggestions dude. I've barely had the phone for a week, I'll try your ideas out. @Shwetabh - Did you look at the regular Samsung Galaxy S2 or the S2 Skyrocket? Skyrocket has a bigger screen, is lighter and has the NFC chip too.

For the default pattern unlock app (with 9 dots, minimum allowed 4), theoretically speaking, the number of possible combinations are about an order of magnitude less than #of possible pins with, lets say 4 digits. Besides, drawing pattern leaves finger traces on the screen - which are easily visible. But the main reason for pattern unlock is convenience in using and memorizing - humans are better at remembering patterns than random digits. And no pin/pattern is safe in hands of skillful hacker. There are ways to access the phone data w/o even requiring to enter pin/pattern.
