Talent spotted by Durham and put through there very good academy, breaks into the first team and performs very well. Then he would choose to play for NZ despite not being back their for 8 years and having played no cricket in NZ. Yet somehow England have imported this Stokes, they knew when he was 11 he was going to be a good cricketer so got some little rugby league club to employ his dad as a cover for Ben to come over, genius.

.So a kid moves in from NZL at 12 and starts playing list A games at 17 and probably some minor league stuff before that very well reflects the structure of cricket at English domestc,Club and school level

I guess you are just advocating that you have to be born in a country and stay there your whole life, oh wait you live in Chicago. And what is this magic coincidental conspiracy theory you are pointing towards? Obviously if lads come from cricket playing countries they are more likely to play cricket as a lad in england. That is bcoz out of the 6 players Hick was Zimbabwean and started playing before Zim was without test status and didn't play much competitive cricket Lamb,Smith SA and started playing for ENG when SA was banned and as cricketers had the right to make their living we can give them the leeway Pringle born in Kenya...Self explanatory Lewis and Defraites would not make it to WI squad in the 80's or early 90's even in their dreams...

The South Africans have tried to escape from a racist quota system which would have prevented them from reaching SA squad. As cricketers they have the right to maker their living. Maybe the username of "maniac" explains all but I do not understand why someone who moves to england as a boy would then represent their country of birth in international cricket. We live in a globalised world. People move around.
