Having taken the first innings lead, they still have a chance to go through to the QF ahead of Saurashtra, who have finished at 16 points, same as UP will have if they do not lose this match. UP are ahead on the run quotient Bengal also have a lead over Baroda and have nearly avoided relegation unless they somehow go onto to lose the match from here. NO UP need to win first innings points are worthless now since Saurastra has won. If points are equal no. of matches won is taken into consideration where Saurashtra has the edge.So unless UP or Punjab win Saurashtra are through to the QF. So Saurashtra are more or less into the QF now.

All said and done, am sure he will be in contention for a spot in the national side based on his bowling this season so far. in odis pathan was fine.. but in tests if u remove his matches against bangladesh and zimbabwe his avgs 45!

Even Bhajji have a Pedegree..frnakly speaking his pedegree is way above even if you add Both patans and multiplied by 10 times...still most of us feel here he deserved to go out of team...

Let's hope Shami is not the next Mithun. i think clocking 140 isnt that important even if mithun bowls in higher 130's its enough problem with him is he does nothing with bowl no swing at all shami ahmed is a good prospect there are some good bowlers coming up but some how selectres instad of selecting players like dinda who has some pace and is in form select vk,rp singh don know whts wrong with them lol

The day started with Himachal Pradesh failing to overhaul Maharashtra's 415, conceding a 179-run lead. Apart from Paras Dogra, who made 81, none of HP's specialist batsmen showed the grit to hang around. For Maharashtra, Domnic Joseph finished with 4 for 42, his best figures in his maiden season. Dogra provided steady momentum to the HP innings despite losing his captain Ajay Ratra, who was run out by a direct hit from Kedar Jahav at midwicket. Dogra found support in the 22-year-old Amit Kumar, but when the seventh-wicket partnership was worth 36, Joseph caught Dogra plumb in front of the wickets. At that point HP were 153 for 6. While Dinda can bowl quick, but sustaining that pace in test match for him looks hard because of his indifference action and lean physique as well as he looks out of breath whenever he bowls with full effort and quick which is not the case with Yadav. Yadav bowls 140 average speed for 10 overs and does not even look like tiring, bowling a whole over close to 145 and is still does not look fuss about it. Dinda lack stamina for that, but we will never know until we see him playing test.
